Extract video thumbnail using PHP without ffmpeg
18 mai 2018, par SharpAffairThe question is similar to : Is there any way to create a video thumbnail through PHP without ffmpeg ?
However, that thread is 6-year old and technologies have evolved since then.Any way to extract a thumbnail from uploaded MP4 file using PHP ?
Ffmpeg is great, but unfortunately unsupported on shared hosting accounts, requiring a dedicated server. And it’s a kinda overkill to use ffmpeg’s power just to generate a video preview picture.
Any other simple solution ?

How to paint in Qt using hardware acceleration ?
19 octobre 2020, par FennecFixI need to do some quite intensive drawing processes in my appliation - I'm recording a camera and a desktop. I'm using
ffmpeg
to capture and encode/decode my videos. Those processes are quite fast and they working in a separate thread, but when it comes to render - perfomance drops drastically. I'm usingQLabel
to display captured frames viasetPixmap()
method and I see that Qt not using any GPU power even if a matrix operation, such as scaling an image to fit the window is clearly implied. Is there any way to paint images in Qt using hardware acceleration ? Or is there another ways to speed up painting process ?

Adding a filter and title cards to user uploaded videos [on hold]
5 septembre 2013, par Django ReinhardtA client is interested in applying a Sepia style filter, as well as title cards, to user-uploaded videos on their website. This would obviously be automated on their webserver, and it seems ffmpeg is a good way to make this happen.
Unfortunately, from what I've read, such processing would require a lot of webserver CPU power — far more than the average webserver usually has. How can I practically perform these calculations on a website ?
