  • Converting mkv to mp4 with ffmpeg sometimes loses video

    9 décembre 2019, par RobertW

    How can I create a universal as possible command line to convert mkv to mp4 ?

    I fixed an issue where sometimes I’d lose audio (I think) and now I’m losing video.
    This is the command I currently use (I’ve used a few, including -analyzeduration 1G -probesize 50M but I always end up with broken videos at some point) :

    if [[ $(pgrep -i ffmpeg) ]] ; then
     echo "FFMPEG IS ALREADY RUNNING!"
    else
     echo "Starting mkv to mp4 conversion...";
       for i in /var/www/html/uploads/Videos/*/*/*/*.mkv;
         do name=$(echo "${i//.mkv/}");
         echo "$name";
         ffmpeg -n -i "$i" -c copy -c:a aac -movflags +faststart "${name}.mp4"; rm -v -f "${name}.mkv";
       done
    fi

    Output of running that on the specific videos I’m losing picture on :

    Starting mkv to mp4 conversion...

  • ffmpeg Command Fails in C

    16 février 2016, par cclloyd

    I have a program that stitches together files in ffmpeg using the system() function. It works when I run the command normally, but fails when I run it through the C program (it gets like 80% of the way through then fails saying

    [concat @ 0x7fe299801000] Impossible to open '/Us' parts.txt: No such file or directory
    No more output streams to write to, finishing.

    But that only happens in the C program. Not when I run the exact same command manually.

    The command it’s running is

    char command[1024];
    sprintf(command, "ffmpeg -f concat -i parts.txt -c copy s%de%02d.ts", season, episode);
    system(command);

    And the parts.txt file is as follows : http://pastebin.com/pUAu9mbt

    (Before you ask, yes those are absolute pathnames, not relative)

  • ffmpeg and hardcoding subtitles

    8 avril 2015, par Adin Gill

    I have a command like so

    ffmpeg -i "F:\Filebotted\Rail Wars\Season 1\Rail Wars.S01E07(7).You Look Good in That. 1080p.mkv" -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -b:v 750k -b:a 128k -c:v libx264 -c:a mp3 -ac 2 -filter_complex "subtitles=F:\Filebotted\Rail Wars\Season 1\Rail Wars.S01E07(7).You Look Good in That. 1080p.mkv,scale=-1:360" "C:\Users\Adin\Desktop\Testy mc test\Rail Wars.S01E07(7).You Look Good in That. 1080p.mkv"

    Yes it is long but unfortunatly ffmpeg chucks a hissy fit and spits out the following

    [subtitles @ 00000000050ce7c0] Unable to parse option value "FilebottedRail Wars
    Season 1Rail Wars.S01E07(7).You Look Good in That. 1080p.mkv" as image size

    It works just fine when the file is in the same folder as ffmpeg (I found out that it doesn’t like ’ or - in the filename, but I just spent an hour trying to work out the issue with no avail.

    Any help will be appreciated :)
