  • Piwik analytics database : migrating from MySQL to MariaDB

11 novembre 2015, par Piwik Core Team — Meta

This short blog post is an announcement regarding the Piwik technology stack.

Piwik compatible with MySQL and MariaDB

Since our first public release Piwik uses the open source database server MySQL to store the analytics data.

Piwik is also compatible with MariaDB. MariaDB is an enhanced, drop-in replacement for MySQL.

    Upgrading to MariaDB

Many users from our community as well as Piwik Scalability Experts have confirmed that using MariaDB for Piwik has several advantages. MariaDB has in some cases significantly improved query performance and reliability of Piwik. Because MariaDB 5.5 is a complete drop-in-replacement for MySQL 5.5, upgrading can be as easy as running apt-get install mariadb-server (or equivalent for your platform). Existing third party techologies such as TokuDB (FAQ) and Galera are fully compatible with MariaDB.

Learn more about upgrading to MariaDB : Upgrading from MySQL to MariaDB

In the future, Piwik will stay compatible with both MySQL and MariaDB.

  • how to redirect adb screenrecord output to pc(windows/linux) storage

    30 novembre 2018, par asullaherc

In linux, I use following code to cast android screen to pc, it work well

    adb shell "screenrecord --time-limit 1 --output-format=h264 -; screenrecord --time-limit 180 --output-format=h264 -" | ffplay -

so I think exist way to redirect screenrecord output to pc storage, so I try following code

    adb shell "screenrecord --time-limit 1 --output-format=h264 -; screenrecord --time-limit 180 --output-format=h264 -" >> /tmp/t.mp4

but the output video file cannot be opened by vlc and google-chrome, how to fix it ?

ffplay is belongs ffmpeg, so I guess exist similar cli in ffmpeg to output input video streaming into video file

  • avcodec/put_bits : Add functions for amount of bytes written/left

25 mars 2021, par Andreas Rheinhardt
avcodec/put_bits : Add functions for amount of bytes written/left

Often a caller doesn't want the amount of bits written via a
PutBitContext, but the amount of bytes. This in particular happens
after one has flushed the PutBitContext (e.g. at the end of encoding,
when one wants to know the actual packet size). The current way of doing
    this is with put_bits_count(pb)/8 (or (put_bits_count(pb) + 7)/8).

Yet this has some issues : It contains implicit multiplications and
divisions by 8 with a cast in between ; it obscurs the intent ; and
it restricts the size of the buffer to (currently) INT_MAX/8 (or
to 1/8 of the maximum of whatever put_bits_count() returns), although
said restriction is not really necessary for users that don't need
    a bitcount.

Corresponding functions for the amount of bytes left have also been
    addded.
