  • Extract individual frames as a buffer from a video

    30 août 2022, par mgo

I'm trying to process a video using tensorflow in node.js (i.e. on the server - I don't have a web page). I need to process each frame in the video individually. I see some people are using ffmpeg to generate individual image files from the video but that seems wasteful as it creates files on the filesystem. I would prefer to grab each frame as a base64 string in memory. I've got this working using OpenCV4Node but am wondering if there are any lighter weight solutions. Is anyone already doing this ? Any help would be appreciated :-)

  • How do i extract individual frames from videos using ffmpeg ?

    15 novembre 2015, par yzhu

I have a bunch of videos downloaded from Youtube and I would like to extract frames from them. The current command I am using is :

    ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -an -s qvga %06d.png

But I also want to set the -r and -t option. I want the fps to be the fps of each video, and the duration time is their duration. I know that if I don’t set the -r option, the default is 25 fps.

So could anyone help ? how to add the -r and -t option ? and is there any better and accurate way to obtain individual frames from videos ? Thanks a lot.
