    The bigger the community, the more MediaSPIP’s potential will be explored and the faster the software will evolve.
    A discussion list is available for all exchanges between users.

  • Contribute to translation

    You can help us to improve the language used in the software interface to make MediaSPIP more accessible and user-friendly. You can also translate the interface into any language that allows it to spread to new linguistic communities.
    To do this, we use the translation interface of SPIP where the all the language modules of MediaSPIP are available. Just subscribe to the mailing list and request further informantion on translation.
    MediaSPIP is currently available in French and English (...)

  • How to convert video to `m4v` with `ffmpeg` ?

    I’m trying to encode a video to m4v, so I can play it using jplayer on my website, but having troubles while specifieng correct parameter to ffmpeg. Here is the command I use :

    ffmpeg -i 1.avi -vcodec mpeg4 -f m4v -qmax 8 1.m4v 2>&1

    The video I get with this command won’t play in jplayer and even in Totem Movie Player (on ubuntu). But if I try the demo video from jplayer website evrything works fine.

    Can anyone give me a hint on what parameters I need to specify to ffmpeg to get a working m4v video, like the one with a bunny ?

  • Querying an audio/video file for information

    I want a PHP function which receives the path to a file and returns an array of information about it. The PHP file can call FFmpeg.

    Returned data should be something like

    I've never worked with FFmpeg or with PHP's shell_exec() function, but it seems that FFmpeg will give information about videos (or audio files) in a fairly hard-to-parse format. I assume that something like this is possible, though.

    oups ! fausse alerte : la config du SPIP testé n’avait pas les document associés autorisés avec les articles... (ceci dit c’est beta qu’elle ne le soit pas par défaut lorsque l’on crée le SPIP...)
