ffmpeg configure for ios - using asm options causes MPx (mp1, mp2, mp3) codecs sound problems
18 avril 2013, par hard gamerI've made many tests to get good performance for video decoding with ffmpeg on low cpu idevices such as iPad 1 and iPhone 3Gs, and see that using asm option when configuring ffmpeg for cross compiling for ios is very very important for performance..
But when I configure with —enable-asm, the audio stream which using mpx(mp1,mp2,mp) codec sounds squeaky.
If I configure with —disable-asm option, than mpx(mp1,mp2,mp) codec sounds well but then the performance is %50 percent of the previous one built with the —enable-asm option...I've also tested these with the ffmpeg versions that are 0.8, 0.9, 0.10, 0.11, 1.0,1.1,1.2
All of them produces same results...Can anyone have the same problem with me ? Also, any idea how can I fix this issue ? please advice me .. (I can not find any patch to fix this issue on the net or in ffmpeg forums.)

Convert HEVC/H.265 video to a more widely supported format using fluent-ffmpeg in Node.js
21 juin 2021, par Daniel LoitertonMy app allows users to upload videos from their phones. However, the latest iPhone default format (HEVC / H.265) does not seem to be supported by Chrome and other browsers, so some users cannot stream the videos.

I'm already using fluent-ffmpeg on my Node.js backend to read metadata and extract thumbnails from the uploaded videos. How would I go about converting HEVC videos to something else ? What format/options would be appropriate for streaming to browsers ? Ideally I'd like to keep files fairly small, and I'm willing to sacrifice some quality to that end.

Changing portrait videos to landscape aspect with latest ffmpeg release is breaking
19 décembre 2016, par zealI am having an issue scaling videos recorded in portrait with the latest version of ffmpeg (2.1). This worked fine in a previous version, but I need the lastest version to fix a different issue.
I am trying to take any video passed and make it 852 wide by 480 high. It works fine when converting videos that are wider then tall, but when the video is taller then wide it corrupts the video. It actually adds a letter box to the top and bottom, rather then left and right. Also, the meta data shows it as the correct height & width, but its wrong when played in windows.
Here are the parameters I am using.
ffmpeg -i INPUT -s 852x480 -r 30 -aspect 1.775 -b:v 2000000 -vcodec mpeg4 -vf "scale=iw*min(852/iw\,480 /ih):ih*min(852/iw\,480 /ih),pad=852:480 :(852-iw)/2:(480 -ih)/2" -ac 2 -b:a 128k -ar 44100 -y OUTPUT
Console output from
ffmpeg -i INPUT -r 30 -b:v 2000000 -vcodec mpeg4 -vf "scale=852:480" -ac 2 -b:a 128k -ar 44100 -y OUTPUT
