• Drawing dynamic text on video stream

  I’m trying to change text dynamically every 5 minutes on my live video stream
  This is the argument im using :

  -vf "drawtext=fontsize=40:fontfile=FreeSerif.ttf:text='hello world':x=(w-text_w)/2:y=(h-text_h)/2"

  I tried ’c’ in the FFMPEG console windows but I can’t get it right, I always get a parse error.
  Is there an example of how to use this options ?

• cap.isOpened() : returns false in CentOS for Python 3 and OpenCV 3.1.0

  So cap from opencv 3 doesn’t work in CentOS. I had no problem in OSX or Windows 7 which I tried initially.
  Here is the example code :

  I can open the video using ffplay vid_name and also here is the result of https://pastebin.com/YGk2DDCi here https://pastebin.com/HSyHSsEZ (ffmpeg codecs). How should I fix this ?

  I have opencv 3.1.0 and here’s some sys info.

  UPDATE : tried .avi and .flv formats and the same problem !

• ffmpeg drawtext leading space characters in text are getting ignored

  I am using the below arguments for drawtext in ffmpeg

  ffmpeg -i input.gif -vf drawtext="fontfile='ariblk.ttf':text='    Hello World':x=10:y=10:fontsize=30:fontcolor=white" output.gif

  notice the spaces before the text specified in argument, but in output the spaces before the text are getting ignored.
  So how could I stop ffmpeg from doing that.
