  • FFMPEG - Converting any kind of file to Mp4 compatible with IOS and Flash

    5 février 2013, par arashaga

    I am struggling with FFmpeg whithing Drupal Video Module to produce files to MP4 that is compatible with IOS and Flash Player10 and up.
    I have used the following commands so far, please note that the variables starting with " !" are placeholders and will be replaces with the proper items :

    FFmpeg -strict experimental -y -i !videofile -pass 1 -s !widthx!height -b:v 500k -threads 0 -vcodec libx264 -vf "pad=!paddingwidth:!paddingheight:!paddingleft:!paddingtop:000000" -preset slow -an !convertfile

    FFmpeg -strict experimental -y -i !videofile -pass 2 -s !widthx!height -b:v 500k -threads 0 -vcodec libx264 -vf "pad=!paddingwidth:!paddingheight:!paddingleft:!paddingtop:000000" -preset slow -acodec aac -ab 128k !convertfile

    The above command produce an error as :

    error executing command for rendering preset HTML5 MP4, command #1 :

    nice -n 19 /usr/bin/ffmpeg/ffmpeg -y -i '80137db8c3_1334836277_int_tr_19.mp4' -s 176x100 -b:v 500k -threads 0 -vcodec libx264 -preset slow -acodec aac -ab 128k '/converted/80137db8c3_1334836277_int_tr_19.mp4' 2>&1

    Output:

    The encoder 'aac' is experimental but experimental codecs are not enabled, add '-strict -2' if you want to use it.
    Alternatively use the non experimental encoder 'libfaac'.

    FFMpeg -y -i !videofile -acodec libfaac -ab 128k -pass 2 -vcodec libx264 -preset slow -b 500k -threads auto !convertfile

    The above command produces the file correctly however it cannot be played in flash player. One thing that I noticed is this may happen if the input file is mp4 as well. This command is executed for users uploading files, so the input file could be any format.

  • audio extracted from flv file via ffmpeg is of shorter duration than the actual flv video [closed]

    11 janvier 2013, par user1961143

    I have extracted audio from flv file via ffmpeg using this command :-

    ffmpeg -i 164_29.flv v19.mp3

    The flv videos duration is 3 minutes but the audio is of 2 mins 20 seconds only. On searching i found that the silent pieces of audio are removed when generating audio from ffmpeg. But i need the audio file to be of exactly same duration as flv video as later i need to put this audio in the flv video itself. Please help as this is urgent for our project. I am running the FFMpeg via .net windows service, so in case you know any other tool which can extract the audio of same duration as video and can be run via .net, it would be useful too.

    If you see the duration of video is of 3:04 but audio extracted from it is of 2:25 only.
    Actually i am using ffmpeg overlay to show two videos side by side in our debate project for the client. Now ffmpeg takes audio from first video by default. But we want the audio from both videos together as a debate going on. Hence I thought of a solution to extract audio from both videos and merge them and than apply them to the overlayed video. This will all work perfectly only if I get the complete audio from the video file i.e. of equal duration.
    For more information i am writing here the overlay command we are using :-

    **ffmpeg -i 164_29.flv  -vf "[in] scale=359:320, pad=2*iw+6:ih
     [left];    movie=164_30.flv, scale=359:320 [right]; [left][right]
     overlay=365:0  [out]" -b:v 3600k -y a1.flv**

    **This is the console output of this overlay command:-**

    C :\Users\ritika.thakur>ffmpeg -i 164_29.flv -vf "[in] scale=359:320, pad=2*iw+6
    :ih [left] ; movie=164_30.flv, scale=359:320 [right] ; [left][right] overlay=365:0
    [out]" -b:v 3600k -y a1.flv

    Everything is working fine except that we want audio from both videos playing together in final overlayed file. I would be highly grateful if you can help in this and let me know if its possible to do via ffmpeg or not.

  • avconv stops streaming after some time

    4 juin 2014, par Dhrumil Doshi

    I am using raspberry-pi board and a usb camera attached with it. i use avconv tool to capture live video from camera and streaming it on network using rtp protocol.

    My command on server(raspberry-pi board) is as below :

    avconv -f video4linux2 -s 160x120 -i /dev/video0 -vcodec mpeg2video -r 25 -pix_fmt yuv420p -me_method epzs -b 2600k -bt 256k -f rtp rtp ://192.168.1.141:8554

    streaming works successfully using this command. Here IP address 192.168.1.141 is the ip address of my client pc. i can play live streaming on client side using vlc successfully.

    But Issue is after some time encoding and streaming on server stop automatically. And command hangs there.

    Output on server is as below :

    $ avconv -f video4linux2 -s 160x120 -v debug -i /dev/video0 -vcodec mpeg2video -r 25 -pix_fmt yuv420p -me_method epzs -b 2600k -bt 256k -f rtp rtp://192.168.1.141:8554
