The zip file provided here only contains the sources of MediaSPIP in its standalone version.
To get a working installation, you must manually install all-software dependencies on the server.

  • constant streaming of encoded images

23 novembre 2013, par Andrew Simpson

    I have a C# winform desktop app.

I receive stream of jepgs (constantly).

For every image I get I send by a [web method] to my web server.

    That updates a static image.

From the web server the User can logon and view pretty much in real time this 'video' of images.

Now, I would like to try and emulate how an encoder works for a video.

So, in SUDO I want this :

    jepg -> OGG -> jpeg.

So, hopefully, the amount of bytes I have to send to my web server is reduced.

I know about ffmpeg but being a c# developer some of the command line arguments I struggle to understand.

I guess the 1st question is whether this is possible and the 2nd question how could I manage it through c# ?

    Thanks

  • uploading video to ftp while transcoding with Xuggler

    27 novembre 2013, par Holly

I'm trying to transcode a video on a client PC (Win, Linux, IOS - x32 or x64 - all 6) and write the output directly to a ftp server using Xuggler. With pure ffmpeg it would look like this :

    ffmpeg -i "local.mp4" -ftp-write-seekable 0 -c:v libx264 -crf 25 -f flv ftp://user:pass@server.net:1234/uploaded.flv

I'm assuming that it must be possible since ffmpeg can do it and Xuggler is supposed to be a wrapper for ffmpeg. I got it working using exec("ffmeg") but it needs to work on all 6 OS mentioned above.

I tried to addapt this example : https://groups.google.com/forum/# !msg/xuggler-users/QeFTxqgc8Bg/0j1ntsl3tI0J by just using a ftp://user:pass@server.net:1234/uploaded.flvas the url but that does not work. Xuggler is unable to create a container based on such an url.

I guess I should be able to write into an OutputStream and have ftp4j read from that stream and write to ftp. What would I need to consider for that ?

Failing all else I could write into a temp file and upload that, but I really don't like that as a solution.

    1. Can someone please provide me with a code example of how to make Xuggler write to ftp directly ?

    2. As a side question. I'm still looking into how to best capture data for displaying the progress in the GUI. So far I found : IMediaListener onWritePacket(IWritePacketEvent event) which I would register to the writer. However I'm not sure how to get the details ffmped reports (current compression, output size so far). The only useful info I found so far is the TimeStamp. Any help on that would also be most welcome.

  • create video from images and then stream to users

9 janvier 2014, par Abdul Ali

idea is to create a video from images provided by a user and at the same time stream the generated video to other user demanding it.

kindly tell any efficient way to do this and which language out of PHP and C# .net will be suitable.

have looked into ffmpeg to take images and convert to video and save to server and then stream .. kindly tell if this the possibility or any other method for live streaming.

    regards

    UPATE

consider the following scenario as I understand :

get images from server and start combining them to form a video. at the same time, stream the video to the users requesting it.. for new coming clients, stream the previously generated video from the begining and keep on sending the new video which is being generated from images to the previous clients.

kindly tell if this is possible, if so then what can be the approach. Have read something about pipes but am completely new to ffmpeg and streaming in general.
