FFMPEG fails with seeking params before input on AWS Lambda
18 janvier 2023, par Rashid GoshtasbiI am trying to run the following command on AWS Lambda that has FFMPEG layer but it fails with a SIGSEGV. The FFMPEG process starts working fine until it reaches the segment's it wants to get.

/opt/ffmpeglib/ffmpeg -ss 00:02:00 -t 30 -i https://cdn.bitmovin.com/content/assets/art-of-motion-dash-hls-progressive/m3u8s/f08e80da-bf1d-4e3d-8899-f0f6155f6efa-audio-only.m3u8 /tmp/out.aac -y

Note : The url is a sample url for this sharing

What this is doing : It will seek 2 minutes into the stream url, then capture the next 30 seconds into an out.aac file. When I run this locally, it works fine. When I run this on Lambda, it ends abruptly when reading the segments that are in the time frame I want (from 2:00min to 2:30 min).

FFMPEG will skip the frames if I put the -ss 00:02:00 -t 30 before the -i which they state is faster. If i put it after the -i, it works, but of course, it's a bit slower.

Example working command :

/opt/ffmpeglib/ffmpeg -i https://cdn.bitmovin.com/content/assets/art-of-motion-dash-hls-progressive/m3u8s/f08e80da-bf1d-4e3d-8899-f0f6155f6efa-audio-only.m3u8 -ss 00:02:00 -t 30 /tmp/out.aac -y

Wondering if anyone knows a way to run this on Lambda. Thank you.

Note : I have tried this on Python and Javascript. Tried also making child processes with Javascript and no luck. I also added -nostdin and piped stdin/out to dev null but nothing.

Thanks.

Example of me running locally :

~/D/build [1]$ ffmpeg -ss 00:02:00 -t 30 -i https://cdn.bitmovin.com/content/assets/art-of-motion-dash-hls-progressive/m3u8s/f08e80da-bf1d-4e3d-8899-f0f6155f6efa-audio-only.m3u8 /tmp/out.aac -y 14:56:13

ffmpeg error during encoding : EOF timestamp not reliable
5 décembre 2019, par Massimo VantaggioI have noticed that some videos processed by the following command displays an error in the preliminary phase of the process :
[Parsed_movie_0 @ 0x7fb06cf00d80] EOF timestamp not reliable
All this happens while I’m testing the ffmpeg command line that generates the encoding with the specific required by dash :
ffmpeg -y -i inputfile.mp4 -c:a aac -b:a 384k -ar 48000 -ac 2 -async 1 -c:v libx264 -x264opts keyint=60:min-keyint=60:no-scenecut -r 30 -b:v 2400k -maxrate 2400k -bufsize 1200k -t 3600 -vf "scale=-1:$size" -vf "movie=logo.png [watermark]; [in][watermark] overlay=main_w-overlay_w-10:10 [out]" format.mp4
It work fine with some videos with small duration but by testing with some movies downloaded it give this error and i believe that could be a problem for MP4Box when dashing which other errors.
Does anyone have any notices about it ? Is the command line suitable for dash ?
Thanks

Safari on Yosemite doesn't get total media duration from init file of video generated using MP4Box
30 avril 2015, par sonamI am trying to play HTML5 video using MediaSource Extesion. I am generating dash fragmnets using MP4Box. I am creating init fragment and respective dash fragments.
I am creating mediasource and adding init fragment to it. When this is done, all the browsers where media source extension is supported(chrome, firefox developer version, android chrome, windows 8 IE11), return correct media duration. But the same doesn’t work with safari on Yosemite, where spec says media source is supported. So on safari, media duration is updated as and when data fragments are appended to it progressively. How can I make it work in safari ? Is there something that is missing from init fragment and how to add it ?
