  • Problems compiling ffmpeg on windows using cygwin

    26 mai 2014, par Papajohn000

I’ve been having a lot of trouble recently compiling ffmpeg on windows. I’m currently using the cgywin terminal to run the code. I’ve tried following many of the most popular tutorials on the web but I can’t seem to get it to work. I’m currently using this tutorial as a guide http://www.roman10.net/how-to-build-ffmpeg-for-android/

After this script runs I get some new files within my ffmpeg folder. They are .config, config(header), config.mak , config.fate. The android folder is never created like it is supposed to. I’m also not sure where the library.mak error is coming from considering that it came with ffmpeg download.

I’m not sure where this i’m going wrong in all of this. I feel like the fact that I’m using windows will make this build process different.

  • Using ffmpeg on Windows, what is the command to capture hardware encoded H264 stream from Logitech c930e

    2 mai 2015, par Jeff

I am using ffmpeg on Windows 8 and I would like to capture the built-in H264 hardware encoded stream from the Logitech c930e camera. The H264 built-in encoded stream is part of the UVC 1.5 interface.

Using this command I have noticed that the c930e exposes two video pins through DirectShow : 0 and 1.

    ffmpeg -report -list_options true -f dshow -i video="Logitech Webcam C930e"

[dshow @ 0000000002d89360]  Pin "Capture" (alternative pin name "0")

[dshow @ 0000000002d89360]  Pin "Capture" (alternative pin name "1")

It doesn’t seem to matter if I choose Pin 0 or 1, I still get raw video from the Logitech c930e webcam. On Linux, the supposed command involves v4l2, but this does not appear to exist in the default Windows version of ffmpeg from http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/

Does the default Windows build of ffmpeg support the direct capture of the UVC interface ?

This is the closest I have gotten on this journey, but still isn’t quite right :

    ffmpeg -report -f dshow -i video="Logitech Webcam C930e" -s 1920x1080 -r 30 -video_pin_name 1 -vcodec H264 -c copy -f mp4 Logitechc930eFeed.mp4

As of April 17, 2015 I am still trying to figure this out and have two new pieces of info.

I found this interesting article on Logitech’s website instructing the user to change the default Logitech driver to the generic USB Video Device driver :
    https://support.logitech.com/en_us/article/Install-native-UVC-drivers-for-your-Logitech-webcam?product=a0qi00000069v0MAAQ#

I also found that my C930e had an older firmware (8.0.866), and Logitech recommends updating the firmware to 8.0.875 to fix an unspecified UVC H.264 issue.

So now I have the latest firmware, and am using the generic "USB Video Device" on Windows 8.1.

    ffmpeg -list_devices true -f dshow -i

    which gives this output :

ffmpeg version N-69608-g9dc45d1 Copyright (c) 2000-2015 the FFmpeg developers

  • FFMPEG for APACHE 2.4.6 (x64), PHP 5.5 (x64), MYSQL 5.6 (x64) on WINDOWS 8 (x64) MACHINE

    FFMPEG for APACHE 2.4.6 (x64), PHP 5.5 (x64), MYSQL 5.6 (x64) on WINDOWS 8 (x64) MACHINE

I need to install FFMPEG on my windows 8 machine running DRUPAL ZEN custom theme. Can someone tell me where I can get the right dll files for this purpose ? If I have to compile them myself, can someone please give me step by step instructions for how to do so ? I have searched endlessly for these dlls for days now and I have no instructions for creating what i need manually. I have a windows machine running minGW.

I already tried using the FFMPEG dlls that are out there on teh internet but my PHP-APACHE installations seem to be unable to properly detect the FFMPEG libraries (i added php_ffmpeg.dll to EXT folder, and the rest of hte DLLs to the WINDOWS/SYSTEM32 folder).

I am running the following versions of PHP and APACHE. Thank you very much in advance for any help you can offer me.

    PHP Version 5.5.1
System Windows NT 6.2 build 9200 (Windows 8 Business Edition) AMD64
    Build Date Jul 18 2013 11:04:03
    Compiler MSVC11 (Visual C++ 2012)
    Architecture x64

    APACHE VERSION
    Server version : Apache/2.4.6 (Win64)
    Apache Lounge VC10 Server built : Jul 16 2013 11:31:50
