FFmpeg similar images filtering into png
6 juillet 2020, par UdiI'm using FFmpeg on Mp4 and Avi videos, trying to output all the frames in configurable frame rate to png files using the following command :

./ffmpeg -i ~/Downloads/test.mp4 -vf mpdecimate=hi=1536:lo=640:frac=0.5,setpts=N/60/TB,fps=60/60 "/tmp/resultOutpu/(#%04d).png"

test.mp4 is a 10 seconds video of my face using the phone and I expect it to take 10 frames and drop 9 because it is much similar to the first frame. (The video is 1 pose)

The actual results it 10 frames of the actual first frame ! Meaning it actually using mpdecimate but it also creates 9 more frames of the first.

Is there any way I can filter them out ? So my png results will be only frames that not similar to the previous one ?

FFmpeg eats all the memory and crash within a minute while recording chrome activity
17 avril 2020, par Thomas PetitI'm using ffmpeg to capture the activity of chrome (thanks to chrome driver) and record it into an mp4 file. However, the memory consumed by ffmpeg is quickly blowing up, and after a minute or so my 8GB of memory get saturated and I have to reboot the PC.

Unbuntu 16.0
ALSA loopback (installed by modprobe snd-aloop)
ffmpeg version 4.2.2-1ubuntu1 16.04.york0

This is the command line to ffmpeg :

ffmpeg -y -v info -f x11grab -draw_mouse 0 -r 30 -s 1280x720 -thread_queue_size 4096
-i :0.0+0,0 -f alsa -thread_queue_size 4096 -i plug:cloop -acodec aac -strict -2 -ar 44100
-c:v libx264 -preset veryfast -profile:v main -level 3.1 -pix_fmt yuv420p -r 30
-crf 25 -g 60 -tune zerolatency -f mp4 file.mp4

If I remove all the sound input (-i plug:cloop -acodec aac -strict -2 -ar 44100) then the memory is OK, stable, but the file generated can't be played with VLC or media player.

The logs from ffmpeg looks normal to me :

root$ ffmpeg -rtbufsize 15M -y -v info -f x11grab -draw_mouse 0 -r 30 -s 1280x720 -thread_queue_size 4096 -i :0.0+0,0 -f alsa -thread_queue_size 4096 -i hw:0 -acodec ac3_fixed -strict -2 -ar 44100 -c:v libx264 -preset veryfast -profile:v main -level 3.1 -pix_fmt yuv420p -r 30 -crf 25 -g 60 -tune zerolatency -f mp4 /tmp/recordings/stuff.mp4

I'm not sure how to debug this kind of issue, any idea why the memory blow up so fast like that ?

adding delay to an audio stream of a live feed in ffmpeg
19 avril 2020, par blackirishmanI am currently capturing video via a Blackmagic decklink card on macOS. My audio and video are out of sync. The audio is ahead about a second. I suspect the video is slower on account of encoding latency. My solution is to retard the audio using the ffmpeg adelay filter. I originally added a -af "adelay=1000|1000" to my command to delay the audio by 1000ms but I found that this audio filter did nothing. Consequently, I tried to build a complex_filter, but this failed. My command is producing too many streams that ffmpeg can't route them to the proper rtp endpoint. So what is the best way to delay the audio and can I select which streams map to rtp endpoints ?

ffmpeg \
-format_code 23ps \
-f decklink \
-i "DeckLink HD Extreme 3" \
-filter_complex "[0:a] adelay=2s|2s [delayed]" \
-map [delayed] -map 0:v \
-r 24 \
-g 1 \
-s 1920x1080 \
-quality realtime \
-speed 8 \
-threads 8 \
-row-mt 1 \
-tile-columns 2 \
-frame-parallel 1 \
-qmin 30 \
-qmax 35 \
-b:v 2000k \
-pix_fmt yuv420p \
-c:v libvpx-vp9 \
-strict experimental \
-an -f rtp rtp://myurl.com:5004?pkt_size=1300 \
-c:a libopus \
-b:a 128k \
-vn -f rtp rtp://myurl.com:5002?pkt_size=1300

adding a full log when running the command with out any delay :

-filter_complex "[0:a] adelay=2s|2s [delayed]" \
-map [delayed] -map 0:v \
