MediaSPIP 0.1 Beta version
25 avril 2011, parMediaSPIP 0.1 beta is the first version of MediaSPIP proclaimed as "usable".
The zip file provided here only contains the sources of MediaSPIP in its standalone version.
To get a working installation, you must manually install all-software dependencies on the server.
If you want to use this archive for an installation in "farm mode", you will also need to proceed to other manual (...) -
HTML5 audio and video support
13 avril 2011, parMediaSPIP uses HTML5 video and audio tags to play multimedia files, taking advantage of the latest W3C innovations supported by modern browsers.
The MediaSPIP player used has been created specifically for MediaSPIP and can be easily adapted to fit in with a specific theme.
For older browsers the Flowplayer flash fallback is used.
MediaSPIP allows for media playback on major mobile platforms with the above (...)

Mp4 pre-loading issue
31 juillet 2013, par rabotaliusI'm experiencing an annoying bug with mp4. I decided to decode a large mp4 file(492M) for streaming using ffmpeg, than I injected the file with metadata using
qt-faststart
the problem is, it's pre-loading more than 7MB before starting to play ! while with
flv
I never had such issue. Is it a bug or just the way mp4 works ? also can i do something to minimize the preload ?

Get video duration of file hosted on Amazon S3
26 octobre 2016, par MichiI’m starting a portal which distributes videos. The idea is to upload the videos to Amazon S3 and gather the necessary data using PHP from my server. So far everything works fine... the only thing I could not manage to get is the duration of the video :-( Could anybody give me a hint on how to accomplish it ?
Thanks,
MiguelUPDATE :
I finally opted to do it using FFmpeg. I have already installed FFmpeg on the server and I’m now trying to execute the command in the shell prior to execute it with PHP. I’m passing it the URL from Amazon (I tried both the cloudfront URL and the S3 URL) but it says that there is not such a directory or file. I’ve seen examples on the web using external files so I expected it to work.
The command I’m using is
ffmpeg -i https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/path/to/file.m4v
Is there something I need to configure in order to use external URLs ?

flv reencode to mp4 for iphone/ipod via ffmpeg and x264 (quality issue)
3 octobre 2011, par zeroasteriskThere are a lot of questions on this topic, and I've read most of them and most of the google search results I could come up with.
When I use FFMPEG to convert a FLV to a iphone3 compatble MP4 file, it just doesn't preserver enough of the quality. Yes, I've worked the hell out of
-sameq
and-b
and-bt
settings, text just isn't readable.Next I tried to split the video out and process it directly, using these instructions :
https://sites.google.com/site/linuxencoding/x264-encoding-guideThe problem is myplayer (via ffmpeg) was not able to determine the duration of the FLV (even though the metadata was set).
(I assume) Because of that unknown duration, when I create the MP4 file, the resulting x264 file plays through super-fast while the audio plays at the normal rate.

Can someone tell me how to either :
- fix my split A/V processing/timing/duration issues ?
- improve the
quality of the FFMPEG conversion of FLV to iphone3 compatible
format ?
