• Streaming Encoded MPEG-4 live video from a web camera using RTP in C++

  I have been working on building a video streamer from a webcam using RTP protocol in C++ language in Linux. I was able to use opencv to take frames from the webcam and send them frame by frame to a client app that shows those frames one by one using the same frame per second parameter.

  


  But that is mostly a MJPEG kind of transfer as the encoding used is JPEG encoding with a specific quality for each frame. However, I would like to use MPEG-4 encoding before transferring the video. After a deep search online I found out that ffmpeg is the best for such purpose. But the samples online mostly work through a command line interface to capture a webcam video and save it as a video file with the given encoding and format.

  


  Is there a possibility to encode the webcam "LIVE", and get byte data while encoding the camera stream ?

  


  I would like to use those byte data to transfer it using RTP for example. And then I would like to decode the received byte data and show the video using opencv imshow function for example.

  


• How do I send buffer to a virtual camera driver ?

  I'm currently working on a project in a Windows environment where I have a Node.js application that accepts an RTSP video stream from a button click and I would like to stream the video data to a virtual camera driver and have it displayed within Microsoft Teams and Skype. The driver that I'm using and have installed (https://github.com/robot9706/VirtualCameraDriver) mentions that the filter implemented in the driver contains a property with a GUID that I can send buffer to.

  


  I was wondering if anyone know of a javascript/node.js library, ffmpeg/gstreamer command, or any solution that comes to mind that can allow me to send video data to that GUID. I have tried outputting the RTSP stream to a videosink with g-streamer but I was unable to specify the display name for the output to be directed to.

  


  With ffmpeg, I was able to find the driver info with DShow but I can only implement the driver as an video input and I'm unable to select the driver as an output through DShow. If there is an gstreamer/ffmpeg solution, please let me know as I'm inexperienced with video streaming and I have looked through many threads here but I'm unable to find an answer.

  


• How to merge .ts files from a DLINK security camera losslessly ?

  I have >1000s of small .ts files from a DLINK camera of a theft that occured. I first tried to merge the ts files into bigger files so that I could look for the audio where the relevant event occurred. Then in Premiere I looked for the highest sustained audio peaks (it was someone using a saw to cut out a catalytic converter). Then, I isolated the relevant 200 files where things happened on the timeline. But now, I want to export the 20 minutes of the incident with the least compression (or no compression). Apparently Adobe Premiere can export the whole timeline containing these clips, but will compress them. I have not edited any of the files, so I don't want any rendering. I just want them strung together in a "well-known" format so I can send the files to the insurance company and authorities.

  


  I used an answer from here but there were audio gaps. Some of the files had no audio, causing the problem when I first merged the files with :
