  • Multilang : améliorer l’interface pour les blocs multilingues

    Multilang est un plugin supplémentaire qui n’est pas activé par défaut lors de l’initialisation de MediaSPIP.
    Après son activation, une préconfiguration est mise en place automatiquement par MediaSPIP init permettant à la nouvelle fonctionnalité d’être automatiquement opérationnelle. Il n’est donc pas obligatoire de passer par une étape de configuration pour cela.

    I have an international conference video which contains two spoken languages, i.e. the video is mixed with sentences of English and Chinese. I would like to remove the Chinese part by command line. Is there any available tools ?

    


  • FFMpeg convert VOB to H264 and multi language

    I try to convert VOB files to H264. I know it seems to be crazy to do that but the goal is to use it with the Apple TV.

    To just converting a VOB file to mp4 with the right audio stream is not really a problem.

    The problem is when the VOB file contains multi-sequences in different languages. For example, in the mp4’s file I will have 3 seconds of video including for example a book on the screen in english, then, the same 3 seconds with the book in french and so on...
    But with the VOB file I will have only the 3 seconds in the right language.

    When I check the VOB file, I only see one stream #0.0 for the video.

    So my question is, how can I avoid to include the differents videos sequences with these different languages ?

  • Mapping streams by language in FFmpeg

    I have lots of files with multiple audio and subtitle languages, however the track numbers aren’t consistent (the English audio stream isn’t always the first) so using a command such as :

    ffmpeg -i "input.mkv" -map 0 -map -0:a:1 -c:v copy -c:a copy "output.mkv"

    doesn’t yield expected results. After searching around I discovered it was possible to map streams based on language with this command :

    ffmpeg -i "input.mkv" -map 0 -map -0:m:language:eng -c:v copy -c:a copy "output.mkv"

    However -map -0:m:language:eng will remove all tracks with the English language flag. To keep the subtitle tracks you can use -map 0:s this is a good solution however, I want to know if it’s possible to only map audio streams based on language.
