  • Why does menconder fps rate does not work ?

    27 février 2016, par ACR

I’m using mencoder to create a video out of some .png files. The problem is that the frame rate doesn’t change, regardless of the -fps flag. The output video has different time lengths (in their properties), but the video’s size and speed are always the same (regardless of the FPS chosen).

I just want to create a shorted video by using higher FPS rates. In short, a "time-lapse" of my original set of images. What am I doing wrong with mencoder ? I’m using the following command :

mencoder mf://./IMG/images*.png -mf w=800:h=600:fps=20:type=png -ovc copy -oac copy -o video.avi
  • How to compress multiple videos using FFMPEG while concatenating them

    16 février 2016, par Nirmal

I am using FFMPEG for concatenating multiple videos and it is working fine for some videos but for some videos it is not, and I think it is because of higher bit rates or higher size. We can compress video using FFMPEG but for that we need to execute separate command for one video this is very long process if we have more videos, so is there any way to compress as well as concatenate multiple videos ?

    ffmpeg -f concat -i input.txt -c copy output.mp4

I am using above command for concatenating video, input.txt containf list of videos to be merged. I want to use same command to compress and concatenating videos.

  • Decode mJPEG to a format usable by libx264

16 juin 2015, par Dan Tumaykin

I am compressing frames coming from webcam with libx264. So far I used YUY2 raw frames and swscale to transcode the frames to I420, which is usable by x264.

Anyway I would like to add support for mJPEG webcams (usually webcam provides both, but mJPEG allows higher frame rates and resolutions). What can I use to transcode mJPEG to some format, that can be used by x264 ?
