  • avformat - direct copy video and transcode audio to aac

    I have a videofile with mov container which contains one h264 video and one alaw audio stream.

    



    I'd like to play it in browser via MSE, but it does not support alaw, so remuxing is not enough, audio stream has to be transcoded to aac.

    



    That's my intention so I've started from the transcode_aac sample here.

    



    I can transcode my videofile (to aac audio only), but if I also want to copy the video stream to the output, I got an error and I'm unsure how to proceed.

    I've read about negative pts values :

    



    


    Encoders will produce negative timestamps when they have a delay.
 Otherwise they would cause A/V desync, since the audio is delayed.

    So the aac encoder gives me negative PTS but then the process fails.

    



    How can I resolve this ?

    



    Output container is mp4, this is important. Other containers might tolerate negative next_dts but mp4 is not.

    


  • FFMPEG hwaccel convert WEBM to MP4 video issue

    I use FFMPEG to convert webm videos into mp4 format using a Nvidia GPU GeoForce GTX 1660 card on Windows 10. It has worked perfectly since the beginning for few months but now it's stopped working with strange error as below :

    FFMPEG version and Nvidia driver version are the same as before it just crashed overnight without a clue. I tried Googling around and did update to the latest ffmpeg version as well Nvidia driver version but it still doesn't help.
If I switch to CPU decoder (without hwaccel arg) using libx264 it just works fine.
