Correct usage of fdkaac for liquidsoap->icecast
1er février 2024, par user4893295Can't seem to get aac working using
fdkaac
with liquidsoap. It just seems to shutdown.

TBF I have no idea which
aot
ortransmux
to use for "normal" icecast stuff. mp3 works fine, and the icecast server works fine with aac from other sources (BUTT etc).

This is my starting point from the liquidsoap cookbook :

%fdkaac(channels=2, samplerate=44100, bandwidth="auto", bitrate=64, afterburner=false, aot="mpeg2_he_aac_v2", transmux="adts", sbr_mode=false)

And this is my output from liquidsoap :

How can I publish an RTSP stream to a MediaMTX instance with TLS encryption configured ? [closed]
15 février 2024, par cmdI have an instance of (MediaMTX) running on my laptop. I have an Amcrest IP camera. I can publish the camera's RTSP stream to the server so that the stream can be accessed from the MediaMTX instance.

However, I want to encrypt the stream. On the Github page for MediaMTX, they detail how TLS encryption can be enabled for incoming and outgoing RTSP streams by generating a server.key and server.crt and editing lines in the .yml configuration file. Streams can then be published and read with RTSPS and port 8322.

I have followed these steps, and set up the following path for my IP camera in the .yml :

###############################################
# Path settings

# Settings in "paths" are applied to specific paths, and the map key
# is the name of the path.
# Any setting in "pathDefaults" can be overridden here.
# It's possible to use regular expressions by using a tilde as prefix,
# for example "~^(test1|test2)$" will match both "test1" and "test2",
# for example "~^prefix" will match all paths that start with "prefix".
paths:

 cam1:
 source: rtsp://user:password@192.168.68.142:554
 runOnInit: ffmpeg -i rtsp://user:password@192.168.68.142:554 -c:v copy -c:a copy -f rtsp rtsps://localhost:8322/stream/cam1

But I am getting the following output from my MediaMTX instance when it runs :

2024/02/15 18:20:59 INF [path cam1] [RTSP source] ready: 2 tracks (H264, MPEG-4 Audio)

I have no errors and was able to publish the stream with the same path configuration (using rtsp ://, not rtsps ://) when using no encryption. What possible solutions can I try ?

aacenc_pred : rework the way prediction is done
29 août 2015, par Rostislav Pehlivanovaacenc_pred : rework the way prediction is done
This commit completely alters the algorithm of prediction.
The original commit which introduced prediction was completely
incorrect to even remotely care about what the actual coefficients
contain or whether any options were enabled. Not my actual fault. This commit treats prediction the way the decoder does and expects
to do : like lossy encryption. Everything related to prediction now
happens at the very end but just before quantization and encoding
of coefficients. On the decoder side, prediction happens before
anything has had a chance to even access the coefficients. Also the original implementation had problems because it actually
touched the band_type of special bands which already had their
scalefactor indices marked and it’s a wonder the asserion wasn’t
triggered when transmitting those.Overall, this now drastically increases audio quality and you should
think about enabling it if you don’t plan on playing anything encoded
on really old low power ultra-embedded devices since they might not
support decoding of prediction or AAC-Main. Though the specifications
were written ages ago and as times change so do the FLOPS.Signed-off-by : Rostislav Pehlivanov <atomnuker@gmail.com>
