• Extract frame timecodes from DV AVI

  I have some ancient DV AVI files (Type 1) from my camcorder.

  


  I would like to export the timecode of each frame to a seperate file. Here I read that ffprobe supports timecode extraction, but it is confusing since it mentions -show_format. As far as I know, DV AVI format encodes timecodes per frame.

  I don't see any timecode. In Movie Maker (yes I know... it's on an old VM) I do see all the correct timecodes per frame. So what am I doing wrong ?

  


• FFMPEG, faulty input with only a few keyframes ?

  I have this video I can watch on MPC-HC alright, but I've been trying to re-encode it with FFMPEG to no avail.

  


  The video unerringly stops 5 minutes into the clip and freezes. Checking the key frames it would seem like the last keyframe is indeed at around the 5 minute mark, even though the video is completely watchable for its entire duration of upwards an hour. I've been looking into finding a way to repopulate the index of keyframes or something, but the answer eludes me.

  


  Both Handbrake and Premiere Pro fails to handle this video properly as well. Premiere Pro just imports it as though it's 5 minutes long, and Handbrake freezes when the encoding reaches the 5 minute mark.

  


  Even doing a -c copy would give me an output that terminates at the 5 minute mark.

  


  What can I do to fix this ?

• ffmpeg UDP stream error (subtitles)

  I have HTTP stream which I like to convert to UDP :

  The Video, Audio and Subtitle work perfectly If I try to open this stream in VLC n Ubuntu.

  So I decide to use FFMPEG to stream to UDP, and filter out unwanted SUB's

  And the resulting stream is DISASTER ... audio is choppy, video fall apart etc etc

  



  If I try same thing WITHOUT sub's (map 2 and 6) the video and audio is crystal clear and stream work well

  



  But I need this two sub's.

  



  To narrow down the problem, if I try to capture incoming stream into file :

  Looks like problem is with OUTPUT to UDP ???

  



  Any solution for this ?
