  avformat/matroskadec : Use AV_DICT_DONT_STRDUP_VAL to save av_strdup
  This will likely also fix CID 1452562, a false positive resulting from
  
  Coverity thinking that av_dict_set() automatically frees its key and
  
  value parameters (even without the AV_DICT_DONT_STRDUP_* flags).

• In Powershell, how do you select different parts of a string and output them to variable separately and display them in line ?

  I am trying to create a progress bar for FFmpeg, much like python's FFpb and got far enough that I can capture FFmpeg's output to variable and save the needed info in variables, but only after it ends.

  



  This command saves each line outputted by FFmpeg into the $RedirectOutput variable as objects :

  



  $RedirectOutput = ffmpeg.exe -y -v quiet -stats -hide_banner -hwaccel cuda -i 'input' -c:v hevc_nvenc -preset slow -crf 18 -an -t 300 'output' 2>&1


  



  $RedirectOutput then becomes :

  Here I save each piece of necessary information into their respective variables :

  Now that the arrays were created, I'd need to write these to the console periodically, in a formatted fashion (that I'll figure out eventually), as the FFmpeg conversion is running (instead of when it finished) and in a singular line, but I don't know how to proceed.

  



  Do I save FFmpeg's output to a file instead of a variable and try to read from there ? If so, how do I read it after each write ? With a while loop ?

  



  Wouldn't that be a performance issue ? I have to say, that isn't a great concern of mine, for now. Just want it to work.

  I want to fast copy parts from an rmvb file without re-encoding. This command works fine with mp4 files but not with rmbv (I dropped start time and duration here) :

  ffmpeg -i input -c copy output

  when I use it with rmvb like this :

  ffmpeg -i 1.rmvb -c copy 1.mp4

  I get this error :

  [mp4 @ 00bb8980] Could not find tag for codec rv40 in stream #0, codec
  not curre ntly supported in container Could not write header for
  output file #0 (incorrect codec parameters ?) : Invali d argument
  Stream mapping : Stream #0:1 -> #0:0 (copy) Stream #0:0 -> #0:1

  I also tried this :

  ffmpeg -i 1.rmvb -c copy 2.rmvb

  and got this error :

  [NULL @ 04748980] Unable to find a suitable output format for ’2.rmvb’
  2.rmvb : Invalid argument

  I tried this command :

  ffmpeg -i 1.rmvb -c:v copy -c:a aac -strict experimental -b:a 128k 1.mp4

  and got this error :

  [mp4 @ 046e0020] Could not find tag for codec rv40 in stream #0, codec
  not curre ntly supported in container Could not write header for
  output file #0 (incorrect codec parameters ?) : Invali d argument Error

  I read this topic :
  but the solution does not work for me.. After many trials, this is the command that worked (and took too long time) :

  ffmpeg -i 1.rmvb -c:v libx264 -b:a 32k output.mp4

  But I do not want to re-encode the file. Any solution ?
