  • How to exclude night images to be passed for ffmpeg ?

    4 novembre 2019, par LA_

My files have the following filenames -

    YYYYMMDDHHmmSS.jpg

I pass them to ffmpeg (on MacOS) for timelapse creation :

    ffmpeg -framerate 500 -pattern_type glob -i '*.jpg' -c:v libx264 -pix_fmt yuv420p out.mp4

Now I would like to exclude night photos, for ex., if filename is between YYYYMMDD200000.jpg and YYYYMMDD080000.jpg, then files shouldn’t be passed to ffmpeg.

How could I achieve that (ideally - without moving files) ?

Upd. Using the following command now, but it captures the following hours only : 10-19.

    ffmpeg -framerate 500 -pattern_type glob -i '2019[01][089][012][0123456789]1*.jpg' -c:v libx264 -pix_fmt yuv420p out3.mp4
  • How to concatenate two or more videos with same width and different height in FFMpeg and to maintain the same aspect ratio ?

    25 octobre 2019, par Aarwil

I have five video parts to concat all. Each five videos are in the same width and height. The second part is the hstack of another 2 videos and the third part is the hstack and vstack of another 3 videos. While concat all the five video parts the aspect ratio is not maintaining in the final video. Since I am new to ffmpeg help me to sort out the problem

I have tried with the command in my final with filter complex and to reduce the size I used frame per second.

    "ffmpeg -i
    final.mp4 -vf scale=1280:480 -filter:v fps=fps=30 finalNew.mp4"

    but nothing worked.
Also help me to use hstack with scaling, to maintain the aspect ratio for the second part on below command

    Command : ffmpeg -i vid1.mkv -i vid2.mkv -filter_complex "[0:v]scale=-1:480[v0] ;[0:v][1:v]hstack=inputs=2"vid3.mkv

    Images

    second part

    third part

    videochunks

I have console the info of my video

    ffmpeg -i part1.mkv -i part2.mkv -i part3.mkv -i part4.mkv -i part5.mkv

  • ffmpeg encoding for 3.0 and 3.1 channels in Dolby Digital format (.ac3)

    4 novembre 2019, par CC2023

    I was able to encode .wav to .ac3 (Dolby Digital) via.zz ffmpeg for channel 2.0, 2.1, 4.0, 4.1, 5.0, 5.1, but not channel 3.0 and 3.1.

When I played back .ac3 files on Onkyo 7.2 receiver, error on channel 3.0 and 3.1 was :

    3.0 channels :

    right channel ok

    left channel ok

center channel played back at subwoofer

    3.1 channels :

    right channel ok

    left channel ok

    lfe channel ok

center channel played back at surround left speaker (sL)

This is command I used :

    ffmpeg -i 3_channel.wav -c:a ac3 3_channel.ac3
    ffmpeg -i 3_1_channel.wav -c:a ac3 3_1_channel.ac3

    My ffmpeg version git-2019-10-28-68f623d

Why I have successful encoding on channel 2.x, 4.x, 5.x, but not 3.x ? thanks ahead for any comments.
