    In my C# program I have instance of MediaOutput from FFMediaToolkit. It is initialized like this :

    


    MediaOutput buffer = MediaBuilder.CreateContainer(videoPath).WithVideo(new VideoEncoderSettings(width: width,
                height: height, framerate: frameRate,
                codec: VideoCodec.H264)
            ).Create();


    


    When I want to add frame to buffer I use this code :

    But when code reaches buffer.Video.AddFrame(); it exits with code 139 without throwing any exception.

    


    I have two test files and only one is causing it. One is .png file 100x100 and it works fine. The other is .png file 1000x1000 and it makes program exit as soon as it reaches this method.

    


    What exit code 139 means in C# ?
    
How can I diagnose this problem when it is not throwing any exceptions ?
    
How can I fix it ?

  • ffmpeg transconding one input video stream and multiple output video streams in the same file

    I am trying to transcode a single video file with 1 video stream and several audio streams to the file having same video stream in different bitrates/sizes with correct padding at the same time.

    the command I use is :

        ffmpeg -y -ss 600 -t 600 -i "INPUT.mkv" -map_chapters -1 -map 0:0 -c:v libx264 -keyint_min 48 -g 96 -bufsize 350k -b:v 350k -minrate 300k -maxrate 400k -profile:v baseline -level 3.0 -preset slow -vf "scale=iw*min(480/iw\,272/ih):ih*min(480/iw\,272/ih),pad=480:272 :(480-iw)/2 :(272-ih)/2" -map 0:0 -c:v libx264 -keyint_min 48 -g 96 -bufsize 650k -b:v 650k -minrate 500k -maxrate 800k -profile:v baseline -level 3.1 -preset slow -vf "scale=iw*min(640/iw\,360/ih):ih*min(640/iw\,360/ih),pad=640:360 :(640-iw)/2 :(360-ih)/2" -map 0:1 -c:a libfaac -b:a 32k -ar 44100 -f mpegts OUTPUT.m2ts

    ffmpeg creates two video streams, however the bitrate and resolution for all of them are taken from the last video arguments - i.e. both streams are 640x360 :

    Is it practically possible to make transcoding to several bitrates to the same file ?

  • Terminal text becomes invisible after terminating subprocess

    After terminating an ffmpeg subprocess, the terminal gets messed up - typed characters are invisible ! The input still works in that commands can be executed, but keyboard input is not echoed to the terminal.

    



    Issuing shell command reset puts everything back to normal (or !reset from within ipython), so a workaround the issue is calling os.system('reset') inside the script.

    



    Other things I've tried : import curses; curses.initscr() before spawning the subprocess and curses.endwin() after termination, which worked somewhat but broke other stuff. Another possibly related issue is that after spawning the child process, the interactive terminal becomes laggy and sometimes fails to capture typed characters.

    



    The code to spawn the process looks like :
