• Split into equal parts and convert many mp4 videos using ffmpeg

  I have a ton of videos I need to convert from mp4 to wmv using ffmpeg and break up each file into 10 minute segments, but I am a total cmd scripting newb (in fact, I am a scripting newb :)

  After spending six hours trying to find an answer, I thought I would bring it to you guys.

  The code I have is working a little bit, but I need to be able to read data coming from the command line and send it back into the script for evaluation. I am not sure what code ffmpeg will spit out when it is done processing a video file (when the timestamp reaches an end), but this FOR loop just keeps on trying to create new file segments even though the video is over. This is what I saw when it tried to create a new file, so I think it might work to search for this :

  frame= 0 fps=0.0 q=0.0 Lsize= 1kB time=00:00:00.00 bitrate=N/A

  This is the code I have come up with so far (Don’t laugh :)

  Based on reading this thread was thinking something like this might go in the code, but not sure what to do with it :

• Segmenting video into different parts and unique rendering on each part then concat afterwards

  I currently have a very poorly performing application that splits up a video, renders it and the concats all rendered videos on android using ffmpeg

  So I am running into issues with segmenting a video up into 5 parts at each different intervals/durations, rendering each video segment uniquely slowing up/speeding up and then finally concat all the segments back into one final video.

  Currently I am doing each part separately -

  Segmenting -
  example for one segment
  -y -i pathIn -ss 0.0 -t 2.0 -vcodec copy -acodec copy -an pathOut

  Rendering - example slowing down/speeding up
  
   y -i path -filter:v setpts=2.0*PTS pathOut

  Concat -
  
   f concat -i input1.mp4 -i input2.mp4 -i input3.mp4 -i input4.mp4 -i input5.mp4 -c copy output.mp4

  Right now I am running different separate thread for each editing of video, so 3, segment, rendering and concat.

  I am trying to get this all done on one command ffmpeg line if at all possible, if not just the segmenting and rendering of the videos and kick of the concat cmd line later.

  dashenc : Reduce the segment duration if cutting out parts with edit lists
  This makes sure that the time + duration of the first segment
  
  matches the start time of the next segment for e.g. AAC audio
  
  with encoder delay.
