How to concat videos with FFMPEG without a black frame in the middle
21 juillet 2020, par david kI need to join two videos together programmatically, and FFMPEG seems to be working perfectly except it leaves a single black frame between the two joined videos.

Based on this post, I'm guessing it's because the video and audio streams aren't exactly the same length (not sure why). Since I'm seeing a black flash, I'm guessing that the audio is slightly longer than the video, but I can't figure out how to remedy that. I'm fine losing a tiny piece of the audio at the end of the file.

Can anyone help me "trim" the end of my audio stream so that it matches my video stream ? I need to be able to do this for many files, so I can't just hard-code a value into my command.

I've attempted both of the methods that FFMPEG provides to concat, and both of them have this issue. I'd be fine with either approach, if I can get rid of the black frame.

Transcode :

ffmpeg -i video1.mp4 -i video2.mp4 -filter_complex \
 "[0:v][0:a][1:v][1:a] concat=n=2:v=1:a=1 [outv] [outa]" \
 -map "[outv]" -map "[outa]" output.mp4

Re-wrap :

ffmpeg -f concat -i files.txt -c copy output.mp4

Here is the output of ffmpeg -i video1.mp4 -i video2.mp4 :

How do I formate spaces in terminal for FFMPEG metadata
22 juillet 2020, par pbendevisI can't get FFMPEG to accept any spaces when I try to assign it to the metadata. Below is the command I am using in Terminal on MacOS. It gives me an error :
[NULL @ 0x7fce76026600] Unable to find a suitable output format for 'World' World: Invalid argument

-c:a copy \

I have tried
'title="Trolls World Tour"'
title=Trolls" "World" "Tour
to no luck.

Using
title="Trolls\ World\ Tour"
works but then the title includes the backslashes.

Any thoughts ?

How to put video on top of overlay using FFmpeg ?
23 juillet 2020, par user3058763How to merge a video and an image (or a black overlay) to get the video on top ?

Input video is already prepared for this (its maximum width/height is 1920x1080) and needs to stay at original size.

This is how it should look like :

orange is an overlay/image (1920x1080px),
pink is a video on top of it (and centered)

The best shot so far I've got :

ffplay -vf "pad=1920:1080:(ow-iw)/2:(oh-ih)/2" input.mp4

this most likely works, but I can't save the image to check.

But this does nothing to the video :

ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -vf "pad=1920:1080:(ow-iw)/2:(oh-ih)/2" output.mp4

Bonus points if you know how to put an image instead of black overlay.
Thank you !

Full logs of the command (output video remains the same resolution as input) :

ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -vf "pad=1920:1080:(ow-iw)/2:(oh-ih)/2" output.mp4
