I am trying to create an A/V player using ffmpeg library and Delphi. After puzzling and puzzling I found out how to read/decode/sync/display etc...

I think this behaviour is in some specific situations, because I tested live streams and noticed no problems. In this case this is a video file, while playing my app and ffplay.exe (from ffmpeg not compiled by myself) behaving the same, and skipping packets "every time when the app has to wait while packetqueue is full ?" and loses about 10-30 seconds of audio and video.

VLC doesn’t seem to have such a like behaviour, while as I understand from VLC credits, they are using ffmpeg or ffmpeg methods imported for decoding/encoding. inspecting vlc source doesn’t make much sense for me because I am a (noob) Delphi programmer. It’s like my main language is Dutch and try to translate form French to German language.

Please any suggestions how to avoid this, because I think it has to do something with delivery of data from the server and/or read buffer of ffmpeg. If I increase the max size of packetqueue the skipping does happen later and if decrease the size, the skipping happens sooner.

Including code from my app is not necessary because ffplay.exe has exact the same behavior. You can see debug from ffplay.exe.

  • FFMPEG "Could not allocate memory" Errors through php

    10 décembre 2019, par Applepiee

I’ve tried to find a solution online for days now but cannot find any solution.

I just switched server (Intel Xeon to AMD) and since the switch I’ve not been able to get ffmpeg conversions working through the php script. ffmpeg was the exact same version and all php settings are set.

All commands that the script executes (copied from log files) were tried in shell and executed with no problems.

The errors look like this :

  • How to remove hoax subtitles from mp4 files by ffmpeg ?

    22 février 2020, par hamidi

Sometimes I get some mp4 files which include a stream of type data. When I play such files by vlc I see an additional subtitle which is not really a subtitle stream. For example it just includes "Chapter 03" ! Indeed the original mp4 file should include a video and an audio stream, while ffmpeg shows an additional data stream. This is the same stream vlc shows as an additional subtitle stream. Sometimes the file includes four streams, a video, an audio and a real subtitle stream. I don’t want to use -sn to remove this real subtitle. I just want to remove what to claim to be a subtitle stream and it’s not. They’re usually introduced to be a data stream, but vlc shows them as subtitle stream. I also don’t want to use -dn or -map_metadata -1 to remove data from mp4, because sometimes the mp4 includes chapters data which I don’t want to be removed. I just want to remove these hoax subtitles which are introduced as data.

How it’s possible to be done by ffmpeg ?
