  • ffmpeg does not copy custom metadata

    20 juin 2015, par e110c0

    I’m trying to fix some videos made with an iDevice. The videos have a rotation in the metadata which is only understood by Apple and its software but noone else. Fixing this is quite simple, but I also would like to keep the other metadata in the files like the geolocation.

    I tried a couple of versions, all with the same result, e.g. :

    ffmpeg -i input.mov -vf vflip,hflip -map_metadata 0 -metadata:s:v:0 rotate=0  -acodec copy output.mp4

    This should work, it already gives the correct preview of metadata :

    I also tried to add the one tag I’m interested in by hand with

    -metadata:g location=+48.2683+007.7205+172.710/

    with no change in the result.

    Output as .mov doesn’t change anything, neither.

    Is there any trick to add non-standard metadata ? How do I get the location back in there ?

    Thanks in advance to anyone who can give some insight on this.

  • Stream .mov to .flv with ffmpeg

    30 mars 2018, par Wise Colt

    When I run the following code, the flv file is being created. But it does not play. (File size 0 kB)

    var ffmpeg = require('fluent-ffmpeg');
    var fs = require('fs');

    var write = fs.createWriteStream('output.flv');
    var stream = fs.createReadStream('video.mov');

    ffmpeg(stream).format('flv').pipe(write, {end: true});

    It works when I change the code like this :

    var ffmpeg = require('fluent-ffmpeg');
    var fs = require('fs');

    var write = fs.createWriteStream('output.flv');

    ffmpeg('video.mov').format('flv').pipe(write, {end: true});

    I’m looking for a way to convert a .mov file to a .flv file using ffmpeg and createReadStream. Support.

  • using FFmpeg converter from .mov format from portrait to landscape mode

    30 juin 2014, par Sohail Yasmin

    I have a critical problem. I am sharing the details with you.

    Problem : - I have a video file in .mov format, taken from the IPhone. This video is in portrait mode, I want to play this video on the webpage in landscape mode and vice versa.

    Please suggest me, should I convert my video from portrait to landscape mode using FFMPEG. Does FFMPEG provide this conversion feature ? If yes, Please send the exe and the command line for converting portrait video into landscape mode and vice versa.
    i am using these commands

    ffmpeg -i "Inputname.mov" -acodec libvorbis -ac 2 -ab 96k -ar 44100 -b 345k output.webm
    ffmpeg -i "Inputname.mov" -b 1500k -vcodec libx264 -vpre slow -vpre baseline -g 30 output.mp4

    ffmpeg -i "Inputname.mov" -b 1500k -vcodec libtheora -acodec libvorbis -ab 160000 -g 30 output.ogv

    any one can help to solve this issue
