• Compiling ffmpeg for IOS (R_ABS reloc error)

  I've been trying to compile the ffmpeg libraries for IOS. I can get it to work if I use —disable-asm, but for performance I'd like to build with them enabled.

  This is one of many configure commands I've used.

  ./configure --prefix=armv7 --disable-ffmpeg --disable-ffplay --disable-ffprobe --disable-ffserver --enable-avresample --enable-cross-compile --sysroot="/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS6.0.sdk" --target-os=darwin --cc="/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/usr/bin/llvm-gcc" --extra-cflags="-arch armv7 -miphoneos-version-min=5.0" --extra-ldflags="-arch armv7 -isysroot /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS6.0.sdk -miphoneos-version-min=6.0" --arch=arm --cpu=cortex-a9 --disable-everything --enable-pic --enable-static --disable-shared

  It compiles fine, but when I try to link against it in my project I get :

  ld : in /ffmpeg/libavcodec/libavcodec.a(simple_idct_armv5te.o), in section _TEXT,_text reloc 0 : R_ABS reloc but no absolute symbol at target address for architecture armv7

  Am I missing some key option ? I've tried using the 1.0 build and the latest git version of ffmpeg.

• Compilation error using ffmpeg library

  I have downloaded and installed the ffmpeg library. I want to use it for reading the separate frames of different videos and manipulate them. For that I tried to follow some tutorial from here : http://dranger.com/ffmpeg/tutorial01.html
  But I can't compile my cpp file since I get the following compilation :

  Undefined symbols for architecture x86_64:
  
    "av_register_all()", referenced from:
  
        _main in cc9zyUBe.o
  
        _main in ccRz35d4.o
  
  ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture x86_64
  
  collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

  When I was installing ffmpeg library, I used arch=x86_64 option in ./configure step.
  I use OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and gcc 4.2 compiler.
  Does somebody have any clue what can be the reason of this error ?

  UPDATE :
  I've already tried many different install options, with static libraries, shared libraries, with/without —arch=x86_64 option. Also installed it with homebrew, result remains the same. Library isn't recognized. But ffmpeg binary works pretty well, when I use it as a command-line tool.

• Having issues compiling ffmpeg 0.11.1 for iPhone

  I'm only asking this because I've successfully built previous versions of ffmpeg. Currently I use 0.10.2 since 0.11.1 fails.

  This is the errors I get when compiling 0.11.1

  I would want either of these :
  1)Fix this issue an compile ffmpeg for armv7
  2)Know what I have to put in a script to ensure I'm downloading ffmpeg 0.10.2
