Encoding and processing into web-friendly formats
13 avril 2011, parMediaSPIP automatically converts uploaded files to internet-compatible formats.

Audio files are encoded in MP3 and Ogg (supported by HTML5) and MP3 (supported by Flash).
Where possible, text is analyzed in order to retrieve the data needed for search engine detection, and then exported as a series of image files.

Youtube DASH stream through to iOS format
29 juillet 2014, par viperfxI have a stream link of a DASH codec format audio file using youtube-dl. It plays fine in the browser but on iOS the DASH codec is not supported. I am wondering how I can use ffmpeg to transcode the HTTPS stream live and then resend it out an AAC encoded m4a file or something that the iOS SDK supports through streaming - mp3 also works. I think using something such as nginx as the middleware inbetween would be a good idea. I can use python app to receive the request /videoID, it would grab the stream link and transcode it live feed it to nginx which would serve the correctly transcoded format back to the iOS app.
Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas on how to achieve this ? I am stuck on the details on the ffmpeg bit.

ffmpeg rotate and resize
23 août 2014, par user1321964I’m trying to resize a movie and to rotate it counter-clockwise using ffmpeg.
I can achieve one or the other ok individuallyffmpeg -i MVI_8189.MOV -vf "transpose=2" -ss 00:00:12 -t 00:00:05 rotate.MOV
OR
ffmpeg -i MVI_8189.MOV -s 720x406 -ss 00:00:12 -t 00:00:05 resize.MOV
but if I try to do both, either-
ffmpeg -i MVI_8189.MOV -s 720x406 -ss 00:00:12 -t 00:00:05 resize.MOV
ffmpeg -i resize.MOV -vf "transpose=2" toutp.MOV
OR
ffmpeg -i MVI_8189.MOV -vf "transpose=2" -ss 00:00:12 -t 00:00:05 rotate.MOV
ffmpeg -i rotate.MOV -s 406x720 toutp.MOV
the final movie does not play, only audio, no video ; neither previewing in Finder, nor in Quicktime. More seriously once I have attempted to play it, I can’t then play any other movie whatsoever (only audio) - quicktime won’t quit, constantly need to force-quit it. The only way to then restore seems to be reboot OS-X
This though does work -
ffmpeg -i MVI_8189.MOV -vf "transpose=2" -ss 00:00:12 -t 00:00:05 rotate.MOV
ffmpeg -i rotate.MOV -s 720x406 toutp.MOV
but doesn’t do what I want - it stretches the movie in the wrong direction
Any ideas ?

Unable to open video from C++ in opencv. It works from python
3 septembre 2014, par user3612710I’m trying to use open cv (2.4.9) video support from within C++. However, when I try to open a video file with
cv::VideoCapture
I getwarning: Error opening file (/tmp/opencv-mLsrDm/opencv-2.4.9/modules/highgui/src/cap_ffmpeg_impl.hpp:545)
WARNING: Couldn't read movie file 11:28:39.mp4Using
cv2.VideoCapture
from within python on the same file works. The python wrappers are from the same build of opencv so I’m a bit perplexed.Mac os 10.9.4. OpenCV is built with ffmpeg (but no quicktime) via homebrew.
I’m linking against all the libraries that the the python cv2.so is linked against.
Any ideas ? Thanks.
