  • ffmpeg avformat_open_input always returns "Protocol not found" rv=(-1330794744)

    4 septembre 2013, par bzivkovic

    Trying to get ffmpeg working in Visual Studio 2010. So far all ffmpeg headers and libs are loaded, no error or warning occurs.

    avcodec_register_all();
    AVFormatContext *pFormatCtx = NULL;
    char errbuf[256];
    pFormatCtx = avformat_alloc_context();
    int rv = avformat_open_input(&pFormatCtx, "myfile.ext", NULL, NULL);
    if (rv!=0){
       av_strerror(rv, errbuf, sizeof(errbuf));
    }

    The problem is, avformat_open_input always returning -1330794744 (errbuf="Protocol not found"). Tried x86 & x64 headers and libs on 32bit XP and 64bit W7. Whatever I put for "myfile.ext" (tried "file1.avi", "file=c :\file1.avi", "http://www.someweb.com/file1.avi", and even empty char* "") response is always "Protocol not found". Any ideas ?

    does anybody have any idea whats going on ? I am completely lost. I have tried so many different commands. converting from mp4 to ogg works fine, and i have had mp4 to webm working before, but i reinstalled ffmpeg to get the mp4 to ogg working and now ive lost my mp4 to webm conversions. >.< this whole installation process is such a damn nightmare. does anyone havea good tutorial for centos installation of ffmpeg that will work for mp4 ogg and webm ? I have used the centos tut that came off of the ffmpeg site, but it failed me. If anyone has any ideas that could point me in the right direction i would much appreciate it !

  • Converting Video for Android using FFMPEG

    13 février 2017, par Jebu

    What i am trying to do is convert video into mp4 format that will play in Android.

    I’ve gone through http://developer.android.com/guide/appendix/media-formats.html

    I am setting the following options

    -vcodec libx264 -vprofile baseline -acodec libfaac -ar 44100 -ac 1 -ab 128k yet I get the error message "Sorry, This Video is not valid for streaming to this device"

    I Played the video in android browser using videoJS http://video-js.zencoder.com/oceans-clip.mp4 and it WORKS fine.

    I download the video oceans-clip.mp4 and tried to convert using minimalist options

    -y -i working.mp4 -vprofile baseline pleasework.mp4

    yet I get the same error message.

    The following is the FFMPEG info dump of the video files

    Working.mp4
