  avcodec/proresdec,dsp : Remove always-false checks
  avctx->bits_per_raw_sample is always 10 or 12 here ;
  
  the checks have been added in preparation for making
  
  bits_per_raw_sample user-settable via an AVOption,
  
  but this never happened.
  While just at it, also set unpack_alpha earlier
  
  (where bits_per_raw_sample is set).

  I am exploring audio development and am overwhelmed by the numerous libraries available :

  


  

  • AVFoundation

  


  • MediaPlayer

  


  • AVFAudio

  


  • Audio Engine

  


  • CoreAudio

  


  • AudioToolbox

  


  • Audio Unit

  


  


  Which of these should I use to play both network or local music files (flac/wav/mp3/aac/wma/ogg) ? What are their specific roles ?

  


  My understanding is that I should use ffmpeg for demuxing to unpackage, then decode the stream to get PCM samples, possibly using Audio Engine for playback. Is this a software decoding method ? For Apple-supported formats like mp3, can I bypass ffmpeg for decoding ? Which library would be most suitable in this case ?

  


  Additionally, how do I extract metadata (song name, artist, cover, lyrics, etc.) from music files ? Apple's own solutions seem to support only ID3 or iTunes tags. How should I handle other formats like wav/flac ?

• Muxing files with different run times

  I’ve got a few files I want to mux.
  File 1 : MP4 File with runtime of 23 Minutes 45 Seconds
  File 2 : MP4 File with runtime of 23 Minutes 39 Seconds
  File 3 : Subtitle File
  File 4 : Subtitle File
  File 5 : Subtitle File
  File 6 : Subtitle File
  File 7 : Subtitle File
  File 8 : Subtitle File
  File 9 : Subtitle File

  I’m trying to mux these files. Now, since there’s a runtime difference, I’m getting weird errors like :

  [matroska @ 0x55e029fbd1a0] Only audio, video, and subtitles are supported for Matroska.
  
  av_interleaved_write_frame(): Invalid argument
  
  Error writing trailer of /root/my_dls/Output/My Vid/1/en-us/1080p/My Video - 1 [Dual Audio].mkv: Invalid argument

  I can mux files with same run time just fine... but, I’m stuck on this one. Can someone help me out here.
