  • Supporting all media types

    13 avril 2011, par

Unlike most software and media-sharing platforms, MediaSPIP aims to manage as many different media types as possible. • Support audio et vidéo HTML5

    10 avril 2011

  • How to setup HLS Live Video Streaming from iOS Device

    9 septembre 2017, par Sean

    Good day everyone !

So, as the title suggests, i am developing an app with similar functionality to that off Periscope and Facebook Live video streaming. Here is what the end goal is :

    • A Broadcasting device [user]
    • EC2 Instance [Hosting an ffmpeg transcoder]
    • Cloudfront Distrubution [CDN]
    • 1 to n viewers of the live feed

I’ve been doing a lot of googling and what I cant seem to figure out is :

As you send chunks of video to the server from the Broadcaster, how do
    you create an
.m3u8 playlist when you don’t have all the chunks of video yet (e.g. the
device sends its first 5second chunk of video) ?

It seems a .m3u8 file is created from a .mp4 file that is already complete, then broken down into chunks... But i’m sending chunks of the video to the server, how can it generate the .m3u8 file when more chunks are still coming from the Broadcaster, so the watchers / clients can continuously stitch together the video chunks ?

I’ll be happy to clarify this question further. Thanks !

  • iOS compatible live mp4 stream

12 août 2017, par Salvo Passaro

I have a video source which gives me a raw h264 stream. I need to re-stream this live input in a way it is cross-compatible and playable without any plugin. I’ve tried using ffmpeg+ffserver to produce a fragmented mp4, but unfortunately my iPhone isn’t playing it.

Is there a way to make it (raw h264 in mp4 container) playable in iOS’s Safari, or maybe another cross-platform container ?

Ps : i’m using a raspberry pi 3 to host ffmpeg processes, so i’m avoiding re encoding tasks ; instead i’m just trying to fit my raw h264 in a "ios-compatible" container and make it accessible through a media server.

  • Possible to Combine Live m3u8 stream with PIP overlay from WebRTC source ?

    25 octobre 2015, par user1258530

Can someone tell me what server-side technology (perhaps ffmpeg), one could use in order to :

    1) display this full-screen live-streaming video :

    http://aolhdshls-lh.akamaihd.net/i/gould_1@134793/master.m3u8

    2) and overlay it in the lower-right corner with a live video coming from a webRTC video-chat stream ?

    3) and send that combined stream into a new m3u8 live-stream

    4) Note that it needs to be a server-side solution - - - cannot launch multiple video players in this case (needs to pass the resulting stream to SmartTV’s which only have one video-decoder at a time)

The closest example I’ve found so far is this article :

    https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Create%20a%20mosaic%20out%20of%20several%20input%20videos

Which isn’t really live, nor is it really doing overlays.

    any advice is greatly appreciated.
