  • ffmpeg + libavfilter's drawtext doesn't print accented characters

    FFMpeg's libavfilter drawtext filter doesn't seem to want to print accented characters like é, and just leaves a space where they should be. This happens both when loading the text from file and when specifying it from the command line :

    ffmpeg -i test.mpg -vf drawtext=text:"Café doesn\\\\\'t print the é" ...
    
ffmpeg -i test.mpg -vf drawtext=textfile:file_with_accents_inside.txt ...

    Is there any way to make ffmpeg draw the accented characters correctly ? I've tried a couple of different fonts to make sure they weren't the culprit.

  • Playing RTSP in WPF application with low latency using FFMediaElement (FFME)

    I’m trying to use FFMediaElement (FFME, WPF MediaElement replacement based on FFmpeg) component to play RSTP live video in my WPF application.

    I have a good connection to my camera and I want to play it with minimum available latency.

    I’ve reduced the latency by changing ProbeSize to its minimal value :

    But I still have about 1 second of latency since the very beginning of the stream. I mean, when I start playing, I have to wait for 1 second till the video appears and then I have 1s of latency.

    I’ve also tried to change following parameters :

    e.Configuration.GlobalOptions.EnableReducedBuffering = true;
    
e.Configuration.GlobalOptions.FlagNoBuffer = true;
    
e.Configuration.GlobalOptions.MaxAnalyzeDuration = TimeSpan.Zero;

    but it gave no result.

    Is there any parameter of FFME or FFmpeg I`ve missed ?

    Enabled discovering a DirectShow device's color range, space, primaries,
    
transfer characteristics and chroma location, if the device exposes that
    
information. Sets them in the stream's codecpars.
