  • Creating farms of unique websites

    13 avril 2011, par

    MediaSPIP platforms can be installed as a farm, with a single "core" hosted on a dedicated server and used by multiple websites.
    This allows (among other things) : implementation costs to be shared between several different projects / individuals rapid deployment of multiple unique sites creation of groups of like-minded sites, making it possible to browse media in a more controlled and selective environment than the major "open" (...)

  • How to make RedirectStandardOutput sends output while the process is running (realtime)

    19 février 2017, par Wayne

    I have this simple GUI for ffmpeg video convertion I made using VS2015 (visual basic)

    So far everything works except for the status text box where I want the current status to show while the conversion process is at work.

    Here is the code where I tried to capture the status

    'LET'S GET READY TO CONVERT
    ConvertProcessInfo.FileName = theApp
    ConvertProcessInfo.Arguments = theOptions

    'LET'S TRY TO CAPTURE STATUS
    ConvertProcessInfo.RedirectStandardError = True
    ConvertProcessInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = True
    ConvertProcessInfo.UseShellExecute = False
    ConvertProcessInfo.CreateNoWindow = True

    procFFMPEG.StartInfo = ConvertProcessInfo

    'LET'S CONVERT
    procFFMPEG.Start()

    Dim theStat As StreamReader = procFFMPEG.StandardError
    Dim theStatOut As String = theStat.ReadToEnd()
    txtProcessInfo.Text = theStatOut

    'LET'S WAIT FOR PROCESS TO EXIT
    procFFMPEG.WaitForExit()

    The problem, my status textbox only gets the status after the conversion is done, not during conversion. Only last/final status is returned.

  • ffmpeg hangs when running -i in alpine docker container cron job

    14 mai 2021, par Richard Westby-Nunn

    I'm see strange behaviour in ffmpeg not running the -i option ONLY when running as a cron job. I can run the command fine directly via the shell. The the cronjob command runs, and it even "starts" the ffmpeg "executable", but it then hangs when it gets to the -i option and arguments.

    I have included a copy of a working output when run from the shell prompt to demonstrate what the output should show.

    As you can see from the above, when run from the shell prompt it starts ffmpeg and then processes the arguments. But when running as cron, it opens ffmpeg, but ignores, or hangs on the processing of the arguments.

    Lastly, I have the following show up in ps ax when I do a check to see what is running :

       58 root      0:00 /bin/ash -c /media/pi/_site/pics-alpine.sh 2>&1 | tee /media/pi/_site/alpine.log
   59 root      0:00 {pics-alpine.sh} /bin/ash /media/pi/_site/pics-alpine.sh
   60 root      0:00 tee /media/pi/_site/alpine.log
   61 root      0:00 /usr/bin/ffmpeg -i /media/pi/to-video-back/%04d.jpg /media/pi/_site/back/back-latest.mp4

    Those are just sitting there as though they are waiting on input, so I suspect the ffmpeg has a bug, or my cron is not passing the arguments correctly.

    Any thoughts on how to fix this ?

  • Instrumentation run failed, when running halfninja android-ffmpeg-x264 ProjectTest

    23 mai 2013, par user1914692

    I am following https://github.com/halfninja/android-ffmpeg-x264 to create an Android project based on ffmpeg, x264.
    It has two projects after building : "Project", "ProjectTest"
    Apparently "Project" is not complete.
    I run "ProjectTest", the error is :

    Test run failed: Instrumentation run failed due to 'Process crashed.'

    Any hint ? Thanks.
