• How to download an https live stream m3u8 file on mac ?

  How do I download an m3u8 file from live streaming source on a mac. I do not want to lose any frame or bitrate or compromise on quality at all. I want audio and video to be in perfect sync like they are on the browser and want to save file as mkv or mpv extension. I browsed the internet and found out about ffmpeg but I do not know the exact way to do that without compromising on quality

  I use git to track *.ass subtitle files.

  After commit I burn subtitles into video :

  ffmpeg -i video.avi -vf "ass=subtitle.ass" out.avi

  My goal is to show commit date for 10 second at the start of movie. This should be done automatically.

  1) It can be easily done with by modifying subtitle.ass itself, but I can’t do it after commit and there are other reasons.

  2) It can be done by ffmpeg from command line : How to use ffmpeg to add a text to avi video ?

  Problem is that in this case text will be shown for the whole lenght of movie.

  3) I can copy *.ass file to temporary directory, insert date, render and delete *.ass file.

  Is there a simpler way ?

• Convert form 30 to 60fps by increasing speed, not duplicating frames. FFmpeg

  I have a video that is incorrectly labelled at 30fps, it is actually 60fps and so looks like it's being played at half speed. The audio is fine, that is, the soundtrack finishes half way through the video clip. I'd like to know how, if possible to fix this, that is double the video speed, making it 60fps and meaning that the audio and video are synced.

  The file is H.264 and the audio MPEG-4 AAC
