Trying to fix VPlayer's seeking ability, need some guidance [Android FFmpeg]
1er juin 2016, par vxh.vietI’m trying to fix the currently broken seeking ability of VPlayer which is a FFmpeg player for Android. Being a Java developer, C code looks like alien language to me so can only fix it using common logic (which could make any C veteran have a good laugh).
The relevant file is player.c and I’ll try my best to point out the relevant modification.
So the basic idea is because FFmpeg’s
av_seek_frame
is very inaccurate even withAVSEEK_FLAG_ANY
so I’m trying to follow this suggestion to seek backward to the nearest keyframe and then decode to the frame I want. One addition note is since I want to seek based on millisecond while the said solution show the way to seek by frame which is potentially a source of problem.In the

How to get accurate time information from ffmpeg audio outputs ?
11 février 2016, par user2192778I want to figure out the best way to have accurate (down to millisecond) time information encoded into a web stream audio recording. So, if I wanted to know what was streaming at exactly 07:57:25 yesterday, I could retrieve that information using my program code. How can I do this in my ffmpeg function ?
So far I have a python script that calls the following ffmpeg function every hour :
ffmpeg -i http://webstreamurl.mp3 -t 01:30:00 outputname.mp3
It will record 1.5 hours of my stream every hour. This leaves me with many 1.5 hour-long clips which together (due to some overlap) will give me audio at every moment.
I don’t know how I will sync these clips with their stream times, however. Is there a way to put timestamps in the audio and have python read it ? Or is there a way to name these output files such that python could calculate the times itself ? Any other way ?

ffmpeg cutting audio is not accurate

If I run

, the length ofclip.wav
(obtained with ffprobe) will be00:00:04.99
.
If I runffmpeg -ss 00:00:38.000 -i extract/orig2.wav -acodec copy -t 00:00:05.000 clip.wav
, it will be00:00:05.01
.How can I get exactly 00:00:05.00 as duration ?
