• Passing python's file like object to ffmpeg via subprocess

  I have a django FileField, which i use to store wav files on the Amazon s3 server. I have set up the celery task to read that file and convert it to mp3 and store it to another FileField. Problem i am facing is that i am unable to pass the input file to ffmpeg as the file is not the physical file on the hard disk drive. To circumvent that, i used stdin to feed the input stream of the file with the django's filefield. Here is the example :

  output_file = NamedTemporaryFile(suffix='.mp3')
  
  subprocess.call(['ffmpeg', '-y', '-i', '-', output_file.name], stdin=recording_wav)

  where recording_wav file is : , which is actually stored on the amazon s3 server.
  The error for the above subprocess call is :

  AttributeError: 'cStringIO.StringO' object has no attribute 'fileno'

  How can i do this ? Thanks in advance for the help.

• use java-ffmpeg wrapper, or simply use java runtime to execute ffmpeg ?

  I’m pretty new to Java, need to write a program that listen to video conversion instructions and convert the video once an new instruction arrives (instructions is stored in Amazon SQS, but it’s irrelevant to my question)

  I’m facing a choice, either use Java RunTime to exec ’ffmpeg’ conversion (like from command line), or I can use a ffmpeg wrapper written inJava http://fmj-sf.net/ffmpeg-java/getting_started.php

  I’d much prefer using Java Runtime to exec ffmpeg directly, and avoid using java-ffmpeg wrapper as I have to learn the library. so my question is are there any benefits using java-ffmpeg wrapper over exec ffmpeg directly using Runtime ? I don’t need ffmpeg to play videos, just convert videos

   Modify /vp9/common/vp9_entropy.h

   Modify /vp9/encoder/vp9_modecosts.c

  
  
  Removing vp9_tree_p typedef.

  It is used only two times and it is more clear to use real type instead
  of typedef.
