  • Other interesting software

    13 avril 2011, par

We don’t claim to be the only ones doing what we do ... and especially not to assert claims to be the best either ... What we do, we just try to do it well and getting better ...
The following list represents softwares that tend to be more or less as MediaSPIP or that MediaSPIP tries more or less to do the same, whatever ...
We don’t know them, we didn’t try them, but you can take a peek.

  • Compile FFmpeg with x264 for MacOS and Windows on Linux

    9 mars 2023, par RobinFrcd

I successfully managed to compile a minimal standalone FFmpeg binary to create MP4 videos from JPG images encoded with x264. The binary is 100% functional and is 5.2MB.

To do that, I used :

    ./configure \
--disable-everything \
--enable-decoder=mjpeg \
--enable-encoder=libx264 \
--enable-protocol=concat,file \
--enable-demuxer=image2 \
--enable-muxer=mp4 \
--enable-filter=scale \
--enable-gpl \
--enable-libx264 \
--extra-ldexeflags="-static" \
--pkg-config="pkg-config --static"

I now would like to build the macOS and windows binaries directly from my Linux machine. I tried this repo and replaced the config args with mine, but the output exe is 30MB+. And I don't find anything about building for MacOS.

Is there a solution to make this minimal build cross-platform compatible ?

  • Buid Exoplayer with ffmpeg extension

22 février 2021, par Bhoomi Kalavadiya

I'm making IP streaming android application. In which I'm using exoplayer 2.12.0. Input video is having mpeg-L2 audio layer codec which is not supported by exoplayer https://github.com/google/ExoPlayer/issues/6525. So i'm using ffmpeg extension to render audio.

I have followed https://github.com/google/ExoPlayer/tree/release-v2/extensions/ffmpeg steps to build ffmpeg extension with android-ndk-r21d-linux-x86_64 and FFmpeg-release-4.3.

Added code in the application

TrackSelector trackSelectors = new DefaultTrackSelector(new AdaptiveTrackSelection.Factory()); RenderersFactory renderersFactory=new DefaultRenderersFactory(this,EXTENSION_RENDERER_MODE_ON,DEFAULT_ALLOWED_VIDEO_JOINING_TIME_MS); player = ExoPlayerFactory.newSimpleInstance(this, renderersFactory,trackSelectors);

Still audio is not coming and the log is as below

Here, With or without ffmpeg extension, I'm not getting audioEnabled log in Eventlogger.
Also after using ffmpeg audio render, I'm not getting it is being used or not.
Or am I missing some configuration of ffmpeg extension to Exoplayer ?

  • How to concat videos that have different colour spaces ?

    17 avril 2023, par Ham789

enter image description hereI writing a Python program that uses subprocess to automate ffmpeg. The program concatenates many videos together with the concat filter. The problem I have is that the colour of some of the videos is very washed out in the final output. I believe this is because the videos have different colour spaces. Some are B.709 and some are B.2020. The B.2020 videos are washed out.

I have tried converting the B.2020 videos to B.709 before concatenating by using the following command on each video but the outputs are still washed out :

    ffmpeg -i input.mov -vf colorspace=all=bt709:iall=bt2020:fast=1 output.mov

It wasn't clear to me which way round the arguments should go so I also tried switching the bt2020 and bt709 terms but they still look washed out but with more saturation.

Is this the right approach ? Am I missing some other arguments in order to convert the B.2020 videos to B.709 while preserving their colour ?

I have attached a side by side of the original and converted video.

The metadata of the videos I am trying to concat are :

    Video 1

    • color_range=tv
    •

    • color_space=bt709
    •

    • color_transfer=bt709
    •

    • color_primaries=bt709
    •

    Video 2

    • color_range=tv
    •

    • color_space=bt2020nc
    •

    • color_transfer=arib-std-b67
    •

    • color_primaries=bt2020
