  • Create Video Programmatically with Qt 5.0

    29 mars 2016, par Joey

We have a QT application that renders programmatically generated QPixmaps one by one to the display and we would like to save this output to a video file. I know that in the past people have recommended using ffmpeg or opencv with Qt to do this. In Qt 5, however, the new QtMultimedia module seems to expose some of this type of functionality. It is now possible, for example, to save video from a camera source in Qt 5 by using the QMediaRecorder as described in http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-5.0/qtmultimedia/qmediarecorder.html#details. With this new functionality, is there any way to use Qt 5 to save our programmatically generated video, or am I still better off using a third party library ?

  • How to install FFMPEG on Docker Image ? [closed]

20 avril 2023, par BS Kim

I'm working on an m1 MacBook.

I have to make it into a docker image this time, but FFMPEG keeps getting in trouble.

    FROM openjdk:17-oracle
ENV APP_HOME=/Users/username/Documents/coding/
WORKDIR $APP_HOME
COPY build/libs/\*.jar application.jar
RUN apk add  --no-cache ffmpeg
EXPOSE 8080

CMD ["java", "-jar", "application.jar"]

I set Dockerfile as above, but both apt-get and apk have command not file errors.(Not when building docker)

How can I install or use FFMPEG inside my docker imgae ?

    I tried

    RUN apk add  --no-cache ffmpeg

    and

    RUN apt-get -y update
RUN apt-get -y upgrade
RUN apt-get install -y ffmpeg

    but neither works.

  • FFMPEG with hardware codec support

    28 janvier 2012, par mctma

I have built a simple media player using ffmpeg on Android 2.2. Hardware is an arm cortex-a8 based 1GHz processor, 512 MB RAM. I am getting low performance, around 15 FPS for 800x600 mp4 video. I have a couple of questions on how I can improve the performance

    • How can I use the hardware codecs available on my target device. How can I configure ffmpeg to use the available hardware decoders ? Does the GPU or graphics driver have to expose some standard API like OpenMax IL in order to this ?

    • What are the options that should be enabled when building ffmpeg so that it can be optimized for my target hardware ? Something like :
      --cpu=cortex=a8 --extra-cflags="-mfpu=neon" ...

I have already looked around the net but I couldn't find the answers that I am looking for. I hope someone can advice me on this.

    Thanks in advance !
