• How to convert 1920x1200 HD video from MOV to MP4 without change of the original size [on hold]

  I have a 1920x1200, 50 fps MOV file that I want to convert to MP4. I tried several converters on Mac but all create a MP4 file with 1728x1080 resolution.

  I also tried to convert the video using ffmpeg. This created a very small MP4 file with the desired size but with a horrible quality. I used

  ffmpeg -i my.mov -r 50 1920.mp4

  Is there some better way to convert MOV to MP4 while keeping the original resolution and quality ?

  I have an .srt file where each speech segment is supposed to last a specific duration (e.g., 4 seconds). However, when I generate the speech using Google Text-to-Speech (TTS) with SSML, the resulting audio plays the same segment in a shorter time (e.g., 3 seconds).

  


  I want to adjust the speech rate dynamically in SSML so that each segment matches its original timing. My idea is to use ffmpeg to extract the actual duration of each generated speech segment, then calculate the speech rate percentage as :
generated duration
speech rate = --------------------
original duration

  


  This percentage would then be applied in SSML using the tag, like :
Text to be spoken

  


  How can I accurately measure the duration of each segment using ffmpeg, and what is the best way to apply the correct speech rate in SSML to match the original .srt timing ?

• ffmpeg : mix audio and video of different length

  I have 2 files : 1 video file (without sound) - length 6 seconds, 1 audio - length 10 seconds.
  Both audio and video contains same conversation, but audio starts 4 seconds earlier and after that was started video.

  [----------] audio
  
      [------] video

  So, I want to mix them together to video file with length 10 seconds where first 4 seconds black screen with audio then goes real video and audio.

  [====------] audio+video (where '=' is black screen)

  I hope my description was clear enough ).
  How can I do this with ffmpeg or gstreamer ?
