Extremely slow rendering time using Moviepy
15 janvier 2024, par pacorisasI'm trying to create the following : two stacked videos (one on top of each other) with subtitles (like those videos you see in tiktok) from an srt file. For this, I'm first taking the top and bottom video and creating a CompositeVideoClip :

clips_array([[video_clip], [random_bottom_clip]])

Then, I'm taking this CompositeVideoClip and using a generator, creating the SubtitlesClip which then I will add to another CompositeVideoClip :

sub = SubtitlesClip(os.path.join(temp_directory, f"subtitles.srt"), generator)
final = CompositeVideoClip([myvideo, sub.set_position(('center', 'center'))]).set_duration("00:02:40")

Lastly, I'm adding some more text-clips (just an small title for the video) and rendering :

video_with_text = CompositeVideoClip([final] + text_clips)
video_with_text.write_videofile(part_path, fps=30,threads=12,codec="h264_nvenc")

Here is the problem. I tried to render a video of 180 seconds (3 minutes) and the video takes up to hour and a half (80 minutes) which is wild. I tried some render settings as you can see like changing 'codec' and using all the 'threads' of my CPU.
I tried to not use so many CompositeVideoClips, I read that when you concatenate those the final render will suffer a lot, but I didn't manage to find a way "not to use" that many CompositeVideoClips, any idea ?

My PC is not that bad. 16GB, AMD Ryzen 5 5600 6-Core , NVIDIA 1650 SUPER.

My goal is to at least bring the render to less than an hour. Right now is like 1.23s/it

Trying to Set up Video Streaming Website in HLS Format on my server [closed]
13 août 2023, par unsquaredcoder1I'm trying to stream HLS videos on my server through my website.
My website is written in PHP and JS. I'm using Video-JS as a player for my videos. My server has 32GB RAM and processor is AMD Ryzen 5 3600X. My server is using Debian 12.

I want to have my videos play smoothly like on youtube but they keep buffering continually.
The videos that buffer are 1920x1080 resolution. I thought my server would've been fast enough to host these videos. But I don't know whether problem lies in the script or the server specs.
My videos are split into HLS segments using ffmpeg.

My server's Upload speed 755.82MB and download speed is 808.35MB

I tested it on a client with 190MB Download speed.

At first I was using a server with lower specs. A VPS With 4GB Memory and a much lower grade processor.
So I upgraded to a Dedicated Server with 32GB RAM and AMD Ryzen 5 3600X. But the videos did not speed up so I'm trying to figure out the cause of them buffering continuously and not playing faster.

How to speed up m3u8 to mp4 conversion using ffmpeg
17 décembre 2022, par Sahil BagdiI am downloading mp4 from m3u8 using ffmpeg

ffmpeg -i "https://92vod-adaptive.akamaized.net/exp=1671307488~acl=%2F48b4b587-13d3-42f9-bfb9-8a0c92876523%2F%2A~hmac=66ce19e1dc862e0b718a3eb73b42f54bf83855db43831e146252adccf0dc6f1a/48b4b587-13d3-42f9-bfb9-8a0c92876523/sep/video/67e2046f,8f9cecb7,b83b6682,0f26a563,3c957583/audio/0b5e7d8c,5f37ccc0,60c393d7/subtitles/59401986-English%20%28auto-generated%29-en-x-autogen-cc/master.m3u8?subcache=1&external-subs=1&subtoken=38c45483ebf2c8238ec8504c20207a588d72f633f79608c00f5950d0300576f3&query_string_ranges=1" -c copy -map p:0 "Testing of Hypothesis.mp4"

but it is taking too long, like my speed is 10 MBps(80 mbps) size is 300MB, should be done in 30 seconds, but it takes upto 5-10 minutes sometimes, now I know it does some converting thing

My question is is there any way to increase its speed ??
I have CPU- AMD Ryzen 5600H and
GPU - NVIDIA RTX 3050

Some help will be really appreciated

I checked some nvidia encoding and decoding things from there official website and tried many things from there but always stuck at some error
