libavformat stuck in ff_network_wait_fd
3 juin 2020, par DanielI'm using libavformat for remuxing some live video feeds (rtsp).

I can't really create a minimal reproducable example, because the issue is not reproducable, but I have an attached debugger and if I have any minimal chance to examine the root cause I'd not skip any chance.

The stream is opened via avformat_open_input, and there is a custom IO for writing the output (avformat_alloc_output_context2).

The problem is that avformat is stuck in ff_network_wait_fd, at least by gdb :

#0 0xb673e120 in poll () at ../sysdeps/unix/syscall-template.S:84
#1 0x004a3ff4 in ff_network_wait_fd (fd=-1357954584, write=1) at libavformat/network.c:72
#2 0xaf0f428e in ?? ()
Backtrace stopped: previous frame identical to this frame (corrupt stack?)

There was a network failure during the connection or the stream and I have not got any aggressive stream closing mechanism (everything is non blocking, there is no waits, sleeps, everything is event-based by libev).

This just happened once during one month so it's very hard to reproduce but it is still running and gdb is attached.

I'm curious if I have any chance to dig deeper. The stack seems corrupted and also the fd seems invalid for what ff_network_wait_fd waits for.

Also, I never call ff_network_wait_fd directly, but there is an alternative : ff_network_wait_fd_timeout. Is it possible to ask libavformat to use this alternative so it won't block my thread if there is unreliable network ?

ffmpeg youtube livestream stops after a while
15 janvier 2021, par ohroblotI'll update this question

ffmpeg -version

ffmpeg -version
ffmpeg version 4.3.1-4ubuntu1 Copyright (c) 2000-2020 the FFmpeg developers
built with gcc 10 (Ubuntu 10.2.0-9ubuntu2)

I run this command to use ffmpeg to stream to youtube ;

ffmpeg -y -threads 12 \
-loop 1 -framerate 30 -re \
-i ./1280x720.jpg \
-i ./audio.mp3 \
-video_size 1280x720 \
-vcodec libx264 -pix_fmt yuv420p \
-b:v 4500k -maxrate 5500k -bufsize 22000k \
-preset ultrafast -crf 23 -tune stillimage \
-b:a 128k -ar 44100 -ac 2 -acodec aac \
-filter_complex "dynaudnorm=f=150:g=15" \
-r 30 -g 60 \
-f flv rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2/xxxx 2>&1 | tee _LOG

The stream is excellent for 45-53 minutes then i'll get an error like this from ffmpeg :

[flv @ 0x56077027cd80] Delay between the first packet and last packet in the muxing queue is 10034000 > 10000000: forcing output

then youtube starts to say, no data being received and the stream will end, which it does.

FFMPEG and MSA1 Codec Issues when Converting WMV to MP4 Video
30 décembre 2023, par user136819I have a WMV video file (around 60 MB size, 01:23:00 length) and I'm running a Windows Server 2016 64-bit machine for testing.

As far as I know, this video file was recorded using Microsoft Live Meeting 2007 back in April 2010 and there is also an associated audio file (which I'm able to play).

I tried to play the video file on my machine using VLC player (latest update), however, I always see this weird MSA1 codec error :

So I tried to resolve this problem by downloading and installing the Combined-Community-Codec-Pack-64bit-2015-10-18, and using its MPC-HC 64-bit player to play the video...
I still couldn't get it to play ! Here are the logs shown by the MPC player :

Since that didn't work, I tried installing the Microsoft MPEG-4 V1/2/3 VKI Codec for ASF files and still couldn't get the players to play the video and saw the same errors as above !

As a final attempt, I tried to convert this video to MP4 format using FFMPEG (version from 2020). Even this failed. Here are the logs :

I wish to know, is there any other way I can convert this video to a more modern format so that I can play it on a modern machine and modern video player ?

What other codecs am I missing here ? (if so, where can I get them ?)

FYI, as mentioned earlier at the top, I'm only able to play the associated audio file...

I'm fairly new to all this stuff, so any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance ! :)
