  • FFMPEG stabilization not use 100% cpu

    20 octobre 2017, par MrJoes

I have a fast processor Ryzen 1600 up to 3.7 GHz.
But I have a problem with stabilization from the algorithm :

    https://www.epifocal.net/blog/video-stabilization-with-ffmpeg
It is slow and does not use 100% CPU - usually uses only 30-40%.

Can it be improved, indicated by the algorithm that it has to load the processor more to get more out of it and to move the material faster ?

I have to do more than 4,000 GB of material. Every minute is gold. For now, all the material is going to be done by 4 MSCs ! so it can not be after all ...

  • ffmpeg x264 CPU core scaling

    15 décembre 2019, par alex416

Does anyone have any experence with this type of thing ? Currently using a Ryzen 7 8c/16T CPU, and using a program called BES. Using 10% CPU, is almost no slower at transcoding from mkv to mp4 (both x264, i know i can just copy them) than using 100% cpu on all 16 threads. So, Since this is the case, What is the ideal core count for libx264 ? I mean, Does the same type of thing happen with 32 threads ? Or 8 threads, etc.
