• FFMPEG convert Black&White AVI into h264 that works inside a HTML5 Video tag

  I would like to convert an existing black and white AVI into h264 that works inside an Html5 video tag.

  I’m currently using this ffmpeg command :
  Ffmpeg -i 0 -y -c:v libx264 1

  where 0 is the avi file and 1 is the output h264 file.

  This command does not work for me, it does produce the h264 but it does not play anywhere else than inside a VCL player (go figure).

  Anybody out there, please please help !!!

  Anyone help me to find a solution to stream a video from a mac server to iPad, iPhone and mac safari using HTTP live streaming.

  Steps taken :

  1. Installed and configured FFMPEG for encoding
  2. installed the mediasegmenter provided by the Apple.

  The ffmpeg option used is

  ffmpeg -y -i input.mp4 -acodec aac -ar 48000 -ab 128k -ac 2 -s 1024×768 -vcodec libx264 -b 1200k -flags +loop+mv4 -cmp 256 -partitions +parti4x4+partp8x8+partb8x8 -subq 7 -trellis 1 -refs 5 -coder 0 -me_range 16 -keyint_min 25 -sc_threshold 40 -i_qfactor 0.71 -bt 1200k -maxrate 1200k -bufsize 1200k -rc_eq 'blurCplx^(1-qComp)' -qcomp 0.6 -qmin 10 -qmax 51 -qdiff 4 -level 30 -aspect 4:3 -r 30 -g 90 -async 2 output.mp4

  I have tried different ffmpeg options to stream the video.In some options it works in Iphone and Safari browser in mac machine, but I didn't get an option for iPad.

  I want to stream an mp4 video for ipad, iPhone and mac safari. I also tried it with opensource segmenter .

  Have any solution for this ?

  In my ios app I am trying to play videos using http live streaming. The playing goes well until I decide to use the scrubber and skip to some point that hasn't buffered yet. From that moment the audio goes on but the videos goes black.

  I've converted my .MP4 videos with the following command :

  avconv -y -i video.mp4 -f mpegts -acodec libmp3lame -ar 48000 -ab 64k -s 640x480 -vcodec libx264 -b 64k -flags +loop -cmp +chroma -partitions +parti4x4+partp8x8+partb8x8 -subq 7 -trellis 0 -refs 0 -coder 0 -me_range 16 -keyint_min 25 -sc_threshold 40 -i_qfactor 0.71 -bt 200k -maxrate 64k -bufsize 64k -rc_eq 'blurCplx^(1-qComp)' -qcomp 0.6 -qmin 30 -qmax 51 -qdiff 4 -level 30 -aspect 640:480 -g 30 -async 2 sample_64.ts

  I did this with multiple bitrates (64, 150, 240, 440 and 640) and created one .m3u8 that contains the different streams. After converting I used the mediafilesegmenter to split the video in segments of each 10 seconds.

  After scrubbing the following appears in the output window :

  The code for my videoplayer :

  [self.streamPlayer setFullscreen:YES animated:YES];

  This problem does not occur when skipping to a point that has already been buffered.
