  • FFMPEG action on events

    19 décembre 2022, par A. Sk.

iam trying to make action on events in FFMPEG.

    For example : ffmpeg -i http://domain/index.m3u8 -c copy -f segment -strftime 1 -segment_time 10 %Y-%m-%d-%H-%M-%S.mp4

FFMPEG take live stream, cut by slices and create files. I want to run a script do_with_file.sh after every slice created, without ffmpeg pausing.

Is there any option in ffmpeg to make it ?

Ofcource, i can take stdout from ffmpeg and looking for "segment" text :
ffmpeg ....mp4 | grep 'segment @' | do_with_file.sh

First of all, info line about "segment" showed in stdout, before file was created.
It is not working, if i want run ffmpeg in background.
And in my mind, it is not geek way :)

P.S. English is not my native language, sorry for mistakes.

  • FFMPEG : Error writing trailer of v%v/index.m3u8 : Cannot allocate memory

    7 avril 2023, par user3309447

I wanted to convert one video track and 2 audio tracks to HLS by combining them.
That means, the HLS conversion has to be multi-bitrate and multi-language both.

What do I want to achieve ?
I have to prepare an HLS stream for 3 resolutions, namely, 720px, 480px and 360px.
Also, there will be 2 audio tracks in the resultant stream, one English and another Hindi.
I am running the below command and getting the error as described below.
Can anybody help me out ?

  • ffmpeg way to encode h265 video that allows fast-forward play without jumps

    27 octobre 2022, par SysHex

Let me start of by saying that this issue presents itself on a Android headset, while running a Unity app with unity video player component that plays a video on it at 2 times the speed. Hence, the issue might be related to these components and not the video file itself.

I have a library of video files with properties as I will describe further down this post.

When I play these files at 2x the speed , the become extremelly jumpy to the point they can't be watched.

I've played with configurations such as : min-keyint=30:keyint=30:scenecut=0:open-gop=0:lossless=1 but I have to be honest and state that I have almost no clue as to what they do. I've read the documentation and understand gop, I-Frames , and the need to exist reference frames for fast seek, and almost for sure Fast playing of the file (?! maybe not ?) , but don't know how to fine tune this.

Maybe I'm missing out something completely and/or someone as any advice as to what I could try ?

The goal is to play these files at 2x its speed, or possibly faster.

Now for the details on the mpeg4 files :
