• When I append a silent audio (mp3) to an existing list of audio it garbles the final audio ?

  After several hours I have narrowed down the issue with the garbled audio to be the 2-seconds silence audio mp3 I am appending (I think I had produced it once with Wavelab)

  However, I tried using ffmpeg according to a post to produce a similar 2 seconds audio but it too will corrupt/garble/chop voice in the final concatenation of audio files.

  ffmpeg -f lavfi -i anullsrc=r=44100:cl=mono -t 2 -q:a 9 -acodec libmp3lame SILENCE_2sec.MP3

  I typically will have several audio files to concatenate together but for simplicity I have able to narrow it to a couple of files simplifying to the following script. A simple Windows batch file you should be able to use and reproduce the issue at your end.

  FYI, I am still a novice of ffmpeg and using it more like a black box with the help I received in this very super forum.

  Additional Hints Debugging :

  If I append more files after the silence audio it seems that the silence audio impacts (garbles, chops) the previous audio.
  You may try the following for the list of audio files input.

  I typically add one or more silence file to derive a post silence effect after the actual audio. That’s my current logic. However if you have an alternative to appending a silence in the process of concatenating several audio files or appending x-seconds silence to an existing audio file. I can use that method as well from my coding.

• Bat file to create a list of files and there paths in the same directory as the bat file

  I want to create a bat file that creates a list of files and there paths (MyList.txt). Saves that file to the same directory the bat file is being run in.

  This is what I am trying to accomplish with the MyList.txt. I would like to have the files in order as well.

  After this, I would like FFMPEG to concat those files ffmpeg -f concat -safe 0 -i MyList.txt -c copy -map 0 Output.mxf and output that to the same directory as well, but I think it will do that currently.

• for loop from two values in list of dicts with python and ffmpeg

  I’m having an issue figuring out how to do the last for loop in my first really useful python program. I am trying to split a video with ffmpeg based on a bunch of logic to figure out edit points.

  I have a list of dictionaries ’cut_list’ that I have sorting figured out like this

  I then am trying to feed these values to ffmpeg, iterating over the list of dicts like so :

  My expected output is to iterate over the list and have chunks of the video split off at those specific timecodes and numbered 1.mxf and count up for every for loop to be recombined with inserted fixes to those timespans. I think after I figure out the for loop I will need to also feed the timecode values as HH:mm:ss:mss instead of HH:mm:ss:ff but that’s not the part that I’m having trouble figuring out yet. Right now I just can’t grok the logic of getting the cutstart and cutend for each timecode to feed into the ffmpeg script.

  Current error as I bash my head against the wall trying to get smarter is : Syntax Error: cannot assign to operator

  I’m definitely inexperienced and have hacked this together from a lot of other helpful posts, but am struggling with sorting and lists vs list of dicts vs tuples etc. and where and when to use each one.
