• HEVC with alpha [closed]

3 mai 2024, par foxhable

I trying create HEVC with alpha video from png images through ffmpeg.

When i try, it outputs a video that works, has a transparent background and opens in QuickTime, but does not open in Safari. Then i try creating in prores 4444 codec and convert from macOS Context Menu -> Encode Selected Video Files with HEVC 1080p and Preserve Transparency. It has work - video with transparent background, open in QuickTime and in Safari.

So i tried understand what a difference in meta data and only what i find its working video has HVEC encoder, but not working has Lavc61.5.103 hevc_videotoolbox. Can i somehow programmatically or from utilities like ffmpeg create video with HEVC With alpha, which working like from macOS context menu ? macOS context menu doesnt fit because i cant compress or create many videos

Detail info

I have example of working video. Info from ffprobe

• avutil : Fix linking x86 asm constants with Clang in MSVC mode

avutil : Fix linking x86 asm constants with Clang in MSVC mode

This fixes building with Clang in MSVC mode, for x86, which was
broken in 6e49b8699657b808b7dc80033f2c3f2d0e029fa3 (in Nov 2024) ;
previously it failed with undefined symbols for the constants
defined with DECLARE_ASM_CONST, accessed via inline assembly.

Before 57861911a34e1c33796be97f2b2f44e05fffd647, there was an
#elif defined(__GNUC__) || defined(__clang__)
case before the
#elif defined(_MSC_VER)
case for defining DECLARE_ASM_CONST, which included av_used.
(This case included the explicit "defined(__clang__)" since
f637046d3134a331e4b5a7243ac3dfb92735b8a5.)

After 57861911a34e1c33796be97f2b2f44e05fffd647, it used the
generic definition of DECLARE_ASM_CONST that also included
av_used - which also worked for Clang in MSVC mode. But after
6e49b8699657b808b7dc80033f2c3f2d0e029fa3, Clang in MSVC mode
ended up using the MSVC specific variant which lacked the
av_used declaration, causing linker errors due to undefined
symbols.

• FFmpeg wrong codecstring for DASH manifest [closed]

21 novembre 2024, par Suxsem

I'm trying to create a DASH stream with ffmpeg with the following command :

ffmpeg -i rtsp://admin:***@camera-retro.lan/ch0_0 ^
-map 0 ^
-codec:v copy ^
-codec:a copy ^
-f dash ^
-use_template 1 ^
-use_timeline 1 ^
-window_size 50 ^
-extra_window_size 5 ^
-seg_duration 5 ^
tmp/output.mpd

The problem is the generated manifest doesn't contain a valid codecstring for the video part (note the codecs="hev1" part) and thus is not playable by the browser :

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mpd xmlns="urn:mpeg:dash:schema:mpd:2011" profiles="urn:mpeg:dash:profile:isoff-live:2011" type="dynamic" minimumupdateperiod="PT6S" suggestedpresentationdelay="PT6S" availabilitystarttime="2024-11-21T12:05:52.604Z" publishtime="2024-11-21T12:05:57.559Z" timeshiftbufferdepth="PT5M1.9S" maxsegmentduration="PT5.0S" minbuffertime="PT12.0S">
<programinformation>

</programinformation>
<servicedescription>
</servicedescription>
<period start="PT0.0S">
<adaptationset contenttype="video" startwithsap="1" segmentalignment="true" bitstreamswitching="true" maxwidth="2304" maxheight="1296" par="16:9">
<representation mimetype="video/mp4" codecs="hev1" bandwidth="822093" width="2304" height="1296" scantype="unknown" sar="1:1">
<segmenttemplate timescale="90000" initialization="init-stream$RepresentationID$.m4s" media="chunk-stream$RepresentationID$-$Number%05d$.m4s" startnumber="1">
<segmenttimeline>
<s t="0" d="542990"></s>
</segmenttimeline>
</segmenttemplate>
</representation>
</adaptationset>
<adaptationset contenttype="audio" startwithsap="1" segmentalignment="true" bitstreamswitching="true">
<representation mimetype="audio/mp4" codecs="mp4a.40.2" bandwidth="34143" audiosamplingrate="16000">
<audiochannelconfiguration schemeiduri="urn:mpeg:dash:23003:3:audio_channel_configuration:2011" value="1"></audiochannelconfiguration>
<segmenttemplate timescale="16000" initialization="init-stream$RepresentationID$.m4s" media="chunk-stream$RepresentationID$-$Number%05d$.m4s" startnumber="1">
<segmenttimeline>
<s t="0" d="81001"></s>
</segmenttimeline>
</segmenttemplate>
</representation>
</adaptationset>
</period>
</mpd>

This is the output of ffprobe :

why ffmpeg is putting only codecs="hev1" instead of the full codecstring (containing the profile, the level and the constraints) ?

Thank you
