FFmpeg can 'encode' to mp3, but will not accept an 'input' mp3
21 novembre 2011, par Jonathan CoeFYI : Fedora 8 running on Amazon EC2...
Having a difficult time with FFmpeg doing a (what should be pretty simple) conversion. I can get FFmpeg to encode an mp3 file from an m4a file using the following :
ffmpeg -i file1.m4a -acodec libmp3lame -ab 160k file2.mp3
However, I cannot get it to to convert an mp3 -> mp3, it responds with "Unknown Format" using the following :
ffmpeg -i file1.mp3 -acodec libmp3lame -ab 160k file2.mp3
I get the following command string :
FFmpeg version UNKNOWN, Copyright (c) 2000-2008 Fabrice Bellard, et al.
configuration: --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib --shlibdir=/usr/lib --mandir=/usr/share/man --incdir=/usr/include/ffmpeg --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libvorbis --enable-libtheora --enable-libfaad --enable-libfaac --enable-libgsm --enable-libxvid --enable-libx264 --enable-liba52 --enable-liba52bin --enable-pp --enable-shared --enable-pthreads --enable-gpl --disable-strip

Edit for clarity :
The input file is in /ebs/queue/input.mp3 and the output is /ebs/converted/output.mp3 -
android ffmpeg halfninja av_open_input_file returns -2 (no such file or directory)
20 janvier 2012, par cdavidyoungI have built ffmpeg for Android using the code and method described at
https://github.com/halfninja/android-ffmpeg-x264
using Ubuntu running in VirtualBox on windows. I then copied libvideokit.so into the Project\libs\armeabi folder of a Windows copy of the provided projects. From there I was able to run the ProjectTest from Eclipse on my Android device. I can see the ffmpeg code being executed but when it gets to the point of opening the input file it gives me the indicated error. I have noticed some discussion of this problem at
but the solutions have not helped since the file protocol is enabled in this build and I also tried putting "file :" in front of the filepath to no avail. For completeness I tried setting minimal_featureset=0 to enable all the defaults but this gives me the same error. Below is a snapshot of the logcat from Eclipse showing the output from Videokit with an extra call to LOGE to display the result from av_open_input_file. Any suggestions of things to try would be greatly appreciated.

How can I write to file with video state while paused in ffplay
26 août 2014, par pixelearthCan anyone recommend a way to do what I need : I need to go through 2000+ videos and choose an accurate thumbnail frame down to the .xx decimal place.
Ffplay works great for this, but it’s tedious to manually copy paste this value from the terminal into my database. It would be great if I could hit a key sequence or somehow trigger an event that would write information about ffplay’s current state (filename, location) to a file.Is there a way once the video is paused to somehow write to a file with the filename and location ?
