ffprobe "Could not seek to position" when using -read_intervals parameter [closed]
9 novembre 2024, par GiulioTI'm trying to extract lavfi stats from an mp4 video by using a command like :

ffprobe -read_intervals 5%6 -f lavfi -i "movie=test_video.mp4,signalstats" -show_frames -print_format json

It works on OSX (ffprobe version N-117609-g6cf4186d1b-tessus), but when I try to do it on Ubutu 22.04 (with ffprobe version 6.1-static or ffprobe version 4.4.2-0ubuntu0.22.04.1), I always get an error :

Could not seek to position 5000000: Invalid argument Could not read packets in interval id:0 start:5 end:6

It works if I only specify the end of the interval.

I tried several mp4 files.
It seems like the function avformat_seek_file always returns a negative number, no matter what the syntax of the time is used (00:00:05%6, 5%6, 0%6).
It works if no start time is specified (i.e. %5).

Any clue what the problem could be ?

Thank you

ffmpeg on the fly switch video from rtsp stream
31 juillet 2021, par John WilliamsonI have a nest doorbell which provides a video stream via rtsp but for security the url is valid for just 4 minutes at which point a new url is provided i.e.

15:25 - rtsps://stream-eu1-delta.dropcam.com:443/sdm_live_stream/CiQA2.....
15:29 - rtsps://stream-eu1-delta.dropcam.com:443/sdm_live_stream/vY8pB.....

I'm able to play the individual streams to a rtsp-simple-server using

ffmpeg -nostdin -i rtsps://stream-eu1-delta.dropcam.com:443/sdm_live_stream/CiQA2.... -q:v 1 -f rtsp rtsp://localhost:8554/live

But is there any way to switch to the latest url on the fly ? I've looked at ffmpeg concate but this requires files. I don't really care about freezing or black between the switching, only that the output stream should remain open.

ffmpeg version 4.2.4-1ubuntu0.1 running on Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS

FFmpeg : Pipe segments to s3
24 septembre 2024, par Brendan KennedyI'd like to pipe ffmpeg segments to s3 without writing them to disk.

ffmpeg -i t2.mp4 -map 0 -c copy -f segment -segment_time 20 output_%04d.mkv

Is it possible to modify this command so that ffmpeg writes segments to an s3 bucket ? Something like this perhaps ?

ffmpeg -i t2.mp4 -map 0 -c copy -f segment -segment_time 20 pipe:1 \
 | aws s3 cp - s3://bucket/output_%04d.mkv

When I run the command above I receive this error

Could not write header for output file #0
(incorrect codec parameters ?): Muxer not found

This command works except the entire video is uploaded and not the individual segments

ffmpeg -i t2.mp4 -map 0 -c copy -f segment -segment_time 20 pipe:output_%04d.mkv \
| aws s3 cp - s3://bucket/test.mkv
