Alternative to sws_scale
19 décembre 2012, par Hrishikesh_PardeshiI am performing encoding of the captured windows screen with x264 using libavcodec. Since, the input is RGB, i am converting it to YUV to make it compatible with x264. I am using the sws_scale function for the same.
My question is if there is any alternate for this function since i don't need any scaling to be done in my case. Also, it would be useful if someone could throw light on the workflow of this function.P.S : I am assuming x264 operates only in YUV color space. If this assumption is incorrect, please inform me on the same.
Thanks in advance.

Change file format from flv to anything android will play
19 octobre 2011, par BilthonI need to take this file which encoded is in h264 but in a flv container and just put it in a mp4, 3gp or whatever file format the android MediaPlayer will understand.
I want to do this natively. As I will not be decoding nor encoding anything I think I will not be wasting a lot of power (am I wrong ?)
I followed the instructions from here http://www.roman10.net/?p=394 and could sucessfully compile and use ffmpeg and use it with mp4 and 3gp files.
But when it comes to flv files it fails. I understand there is no format definition for flv files in that specific port of ffmpeg for android.
There is no libavformat/flv.h header file for instance.
Maybe that's why this works :
extern AVInputFormat ff_mov_demuxer ;
av_register_input_format(&ff_mov_demuxer) ;While this fails :
extern AVInputFormat ff_flv_demuxer;
av_register_input_format(&ff_flv_demuxer);Question is, is there a light at the end of the tunnel ? has someone done something similar ? is it useful ? I mean, I can always just throw the flv media file into a flash player and voila.. the thing is that this would be a parcial solution, as it will not work for all those folks running slower devices that can't yet run Flash.

PS. Just in case. Here's some info about the file I'm talking about :
ffmpeg -i rio.flv

Python/FFMPEG command line issues
5 octobre 2011, par 12hysI have a problem with running an FFMPEG command from within a Python script. When I run the following command from the terminal, I can stream video and audio from my attached webcam (Logitech C310) and output to file "out.avi" without any errors.
ffmpeg -f alsa -i default -itsoffset 00:00:00 -f video4linux2 -s 1280x720 -r 25 -i /dev/video0 out.avi
When I run the same command in a Python script below,
def call_command(command):
subprocess.Popen(command.split(' '))
call_command("ffmpeg -f alsa -i default -itsoffset 00:00:00 -f video4linux2 -s 1280x720 -r 25 -i /dev/video0 out.avi")it gives me the error :
Input #0, alsa, from 'default':
Duration: N/A, start: 1317762562.695397, bitrate: N/A
Stream #0.0: Audio: pcm_s16le, 44100 Hz, 1 channels, s16, 705 kb/s
[video4linux2 @ 0x165eb10]Cannot find a proper format for codec_id 0, pix_fmt -1.
/dev/video0: Input/output errorCould anyone shed some light on what could be going on here ? I've tried using os.system() as well as subprocess.call() and it gives me the same errors. I'm not sure where to start on what could be going wrong here. I tried searching for the "video4linux2 Cannot find a proper format for codec_id 0, pix_fmt -1" error, but couldn't find anything consistent.
I've also tried putting the "ffmpeg -f..." command in a shell script "test.sh", and giving it executable permissions. I then open terminal, and run "./test.sh", and it works. When I try calling the command "./test.sh" from within my Python script, I'm left with the original error as before. This is the Python command I tried with the test.sh script :
subprocess.call(["./test.sh"])
