  • FFmpeg - C - Encoding video - Set aspect ratio

    22 août 2013, par Knossos

I am decoding a video from mp2 and encoding to mp4.

    The original file :

    Video: mpeg2video (Main) ([2][0][0][0] / 0x0002), yuv420p, 720x576 [SAR 64:45 DAR 16:9]

    The resulting file :

    Video: mpeg4 (Simple Profile) (mp4v / 0x7634706D), yuv420p, 720x576 [SAR 1:1 DAR 5:4]

As you can see, the resolution has not changed, but the aspect ratio has.

My question, is how can I set these values (SAR and/or DAR) ?

  • From YUV to Y4M ffmpeg adapting

    14 janvier 2014, par roberutsu

I was used this command to convet some YUV videos in m4v, note that I was using a video in CIF format :

    ffmpeg -s cif -r 30 -i video.yuv -vcodec mpeg4 -g 30 -bf 2 -sameq video.m4v

Now I downloaded a 720p movie and want to have the same paramethers

    ffmpeg -r 30 -i video.y4m -vcodec libx264 -g 12 -bf 2 -sameq video.m4v

I erased "-s cif" because I read that the headers in y4m already have the resolution.
I'm getting the error "frame hate not found".

  • ffmpeg : images to 29.97fps mpeg2, audio not sync [migrated]

21 novembre 2011, par Andy Le

I have spent a lot of time on this issue. Hope someone can help.

I want to convert 3147 images + ac3 audio file into an mpeg2 video at 29.97fps (about 1m45s). My command :

    ~/ffmpeg/ffmpeg/ffmpeg -loop_input -t 105 -i v%4d.tga -i final.ac3 -vcodec mpeg2video -qscale 1 -s 400x400 -r 30000/1001 -acodec copy -y out.mpeg 2> out.txt

However, the audio file ends before the frame sequence. Which means the video is slower then audio.

I checked the output file with imageinfo and see :

The log from ffmpeg shows many duplicate frames. But I don't know how to get rid of that.
